Republican Bobby Jindal Elected Governor of Louisiana
LifeNews: Louisiana voters are some of the few to have an opportunity to vote in off-year elections and they selected pro-life Republican Rep. Bobby Jindal on Saturday to be their new governor. Jindal took 53% of the vote against 11 opponents, eliminating the need for a runoff. His nearest competitor, Democrat Walter Boasso had 18%. In Congress, Jindal has compiled a solid pro-life voting record. According to the National Right to Life Committee, Jindal has a 100% pro-life voting record, having voted not only against abortion and abortion funding but against embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia and human cloning as well. At 36, Jindal will also be the youngest governor in the country and the first governor of Indian-American decent. See also:

It was a great day for the Republican Party and, more importantly, a great day for the state of Louisiana. Bobby Jindal’s positive message of economic opportunity, ethics reform, and tough action against crime clearly resonated with Louisiana voters, who soundly rejected the Democrats’ failed leadership and negative attacks up and down the ballot. I am proud that the RNC’s significant investment in this race paid off, and even more excited about the message this sends across the country: Republican candidates who are true to our Party’s fundamental principles win at the ballot box. Congratulations to Governor-elect Jindal, to all of the new Republican officeholders, and most importantly, to the people of Louisiana.
Those dang racist Republicans and backwoods Lousiana hicks, what were they thinking electing someone other than a white millionaire Democrat?
