Ron Paul Ends Active Campaigning For Votes

As a responsible conservative, Dr. Paul has managed his campaign funds wisely while focused on achievable results. In 2008, Ron Paul suspended his campaign with $4 million in surplus which he then used to launch Campaign for Liberty and advance conservative messaging. Paul has encouraged his present supporters to still get out and vote. Paul my continue to work to win delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is still playing out. Paul said that this is a way to make his voice heard in August at the RNC 2012 Convention in Tampa, Florida. Unlike some of his supporters believe, Paul has not signaled for them to expect a brokered convention.
With eleven (11) states in the process of voting, like Arkansas which is presently early voting, or those states yet to vote, the field is now wide open for Mitt Romney. However, the presidential candidates who filed previously in those eleven states remain on the ballot and may receive delegates based on votes cast under the rules in a particular state.
It is critical to note that Ron Paul's current decision allows Mitt Romney to conserve campaign resources, to focus on fund raising, to prepare for RNC 2012 which includes vetting and selecting a vice presidential candidate, and to direct his efforts to the national debate. Mitt Romney has not only been identified as the presumptive president by the media and the RNC, but he has been acknowledged by Barack Obama in campaign ads as the person he must defeat in the 2012 elections.

Why spend money if you have the delegates locked up?
This is strategy. There is nothing to be gained by wasting money in primaries that he will not win. The delegates are what's important, and leadership spots. He did not drop out, and make absolutely no mistake, his supporters haven't dropped out either.
