Today in Washington, D.C. - June 4, 2013
Today, Congress held another hearing on the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups. And today's small group activist shined a spotlight on the depraved attitudes and actions of big government especially as practiced by the Internal Revenue Service in its handling of applications by conservative or right minded groups applying for 503c(4) status. The leaders of six conservative groups that were allegedly targeted by the IRS appeared before the House and Means Committee. The witnesses today were John Eastman (National Organization for Marriage), Diane Besom (Laurens County Tea Party), Becky Gerritson (Wetumpka Tea Party), Karen Kenny (San Fernando Valley Patriots), Kevin Kookogey (Linchpins of Liberty), and Sue Martinek (Coalition for Life of Iowa).
While all were excellent, one testimony displayed the heart of America (no, the heart of America is not in Washington, D.C.). This testimony came from Becky Gerritso of the Wetumpka Tea Party who said, “I’m not here as a serf or a vassal,” she said, starting to tear up. “I’m not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born-free American woman, wife, mother, and citizen. And I’m telling my government that you’ve forgotten your place. “It’s not your responsibility to look out for my well being and to monitor my speech. It’s not your right to assert an agenda. The post that you occupy exists to preserve American liberty. You’ve sworn to perform that duty and you have faltered.”
The Right Scoop videoed her testimony which is presented below:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has indicated he wants to move to bills that address student loan interest rates later this week.
The House was in session but did not take up legislation until after the above reference hearing. They immediately took up and passed by voice vote H.R. 671 — "To amend title 38, United States Code, to improve the disability compensation evaluation procedure of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for veterans with mental health conditions related to military sexual trauma, and for other purposes Today, the House is also expected to take up amendments to H.R. 2216 — "Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2014, and for other purposes." The bill expected to have overwhelming support since it affect both the military, veterans and jobs and all members of Congress face elections in 2014.
Yesterday the House passed:
H.R. 1919 (by voice Vote) — "To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to the pharmaceutical distribution supply chain, and for other purposes."
H.R. 126 (by voice Vote) — "To direct the Secretary of the Interior to enter into an agreement to provide for management of the free-roaming wild horses in and around the Currituck National Wildlife Refuge."
H.R. 885 (by voice Vote)— "To expand the boundary of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, to conduct a study of potential land acquisitions, and for other purposes."
H.R. 1206 (401-0) — "To grant the Secretary of the Interior permanent authority to authorize States to issue electronic duck stamps, and for other purposes."
S. 622 (390-12) — "To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to reauthorize user fee programs relating to new animal drugs and generic new animal drugs."
Politico writes today, “Scarred by years of Republican attacks over Obamacare, with more in store next year, Democrats have settled on an unlikely strategy for the 2014 midterms: Bring it on. Party strategists believe that embracing the polarizing law — especially its more popular elements — is smarter politics than fleeing from it in the House elections. The new tack is a marked shift from 2010, when Republicans pointed to Obamacare as Exhibit A of Big Government run amok on their way to seizing the House from Democrats. But the Democratic bear hug, reflecting a calculation it’s probably impossible to shed their association with the law even if they wanted to, is still a high-wire public relations act. The White House has consistently struggled with messaging on Obamacare, hoping the public would gain an appreciation for the health care makeover as its benefits became apparent. That never really happened, but Democrats seem to be banking that it finally will. The strategy will be put to the test as the law kicks in next year and is implemented in the months leading up to the election — with the inevitable snafus and critical media coverage as the public gets its first up-close view of the massive undertaking.”
Jim Geraghty, National Review Online reads the same story and finds it an odd choice for Democrats: “So… in 2014, just as premiums begin to reflect the changes of Obamacare, and in the year where the uninsured must start paying the government $95 or 1 percent of their income (whichever is higher)… Democrats have decided they’ll embrace Obamacare and make it a centerpiece of their reelection message.”
Meanwhile, CNBC reported on a new poll yesterday finding that “more than 60 percent of Americans said they fear Obamacare will lead to increased health-care costs. Just 26 percent predicted such costs will go down under the program, according the survey by InsuranceQuotes . . . .”
Yet Democrats are apparently undeterred. According to Politico, “Democrats admit that implantation will face some hurdles and fully expect Republicans to spotlight those blemishes in TV ads. But the White House and congressional Democrats have in recent weeks launched a messaging offensive aimed at blunting the anticipated GOP barrage. Before the Memorial Day recess, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi distributed a 78-page binder instructing members on how to sell the bill in their districts, and White House officials ranging from Obama to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack highlighted the benefits of the bill in a spree of university commencement speeches.”
But Democrats made an awful lot of promises about their unpopular health care bill that Americans are beginning to see just aren’t coming true. Many who supported Obamacare are now trying to pretend that they didn’t make promises like “This law will lower premiums,” as President Obama pledged in 2011. BuzzFeed notes that, “When he was selling his health care overhaul as a presidential candidate and then as commander-in-chief, Barack Obama repeatedly argued that the plan would lower insurance premiums for everyone. But in California, at least, healthy young people — the vast majority of whom voted for Obama in 2012 — are seeing their costs go up. . . . Obama himself promised that everyone’s premiums cost would be lower under his health care plan. ‘My plan begins by covering every American. If you already have health insurance, the only thing that will change for you under this plan is the amount of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less,’ Obama said in his May 2007 speech unveiling his health care plan.”

Since Holder testified under oath before Congress that he never intended to prosecute Rosen, I think the best place to start would be the three times Holder's signed Rosen Praecipe went before 3 differing Federal Judges, before he found one willing to sign the search warrants against Rosen. I make that 3 counts of misleading a Judge on a material fact, and a great bar complaint leading to disbarment, which process should be started NOW; then after being disbarred for lying to the 3 Judges, Congress can prosecute him for the felony crime of perjury before the House Oversight Committee and also Obstruction of Congress, either as a defendant in his own right, or better yet, as a principal defendant in a RICO ongoing criminal enterprise conspiracy, to include the Arizona murders under Fast and Furious, the Benghazi Criminal Homicides under theory of reckless disregard for life, all of the IRS crimes, and EPA crimes, and etc. where all of the defendants can be found guilty of each other's crimes as part of a Racketeering Corrupt Organization (the Obamunists) whose alter ego for the US Government is that of an ongoing criminal enterprise. Thats the maximum effect of the violations from my viewpoint.
Ronald Cutburth: I like that plan Reed. But the Federal prosecutor in D.C. is a democrat creep. There will be no justice or legal election in the Fed until Obamuzie is on his way to jail.
