Michele Bachmann Explains Why The Tea Party Is Important
Rep. Michele Bachmann |
In her 50 minute speech, Bachmann hit on several other conservative themes. Among other proposals, she called for a drastic simplification of the tax code, the termination of the Export-Import Bank, and increased border security.
The Tea Party is close to Bachmann’s heart. She was one of the first in 2010 to identify with the Tea Party’s protest against the growing size of the federal government. She also founded the House Tea Party Caucus.
The speech was one of the last of Bachmann’s congressional career. The four-term Representative and 2012 presidential candidate has elected to not seek re-election next month.
Watch this video for her whole speech.

Bachmann is a big government tax and spend republican. She supported the snooping of the NSA on American citizens. People are not what they seem, but Americans cannot seem to develop a level of discernment that will eliminate these threats, we keep voting them in to office.
KI,
On this one, I don't know if I can agree with you. Can you provide evidence from a conservative source to substantiate your statement about Bachmann. The Heritage Foundation is pro limited government and rather tight on whom they allow to speak at HF. I also recall Bachman standing with us on the street and Washington Mall opposing big government.
I heard her say that she supported the NSA snooping on Americans in an interview live. It was during the Snowden incident. I am not selling it so take what you wish and throw the bones away.
Thanks & thank you for your comments. My wife and I are on opposite sites on the Snowden incident. I was in the military for 22 yrs and had an extended TS clearance. While I didn't always agree with my superiors on issues, I took my oath seriously and kept my mouth shut outside of the office. I freely expressed my opinion to my superiors (which they never criticized) but I realized after a few years that those with more years of experience and higher rank often had different viewpoints and considered trade offs and additional aspect relevant to national policy or the mission at hand.
