Bad Ideas and Bad Politicians
by Patrick L. Booth, Contributing Author: Below are just four of the many bad ideas coming out of the mouths of bad politicians.
1) The only religion it's okay to mock - Christianity: 95% of attacks on religion in America are against that of the majority who, sadly, are too inclined to turn the other cheek to end it. All major religions deserve to be treated with respect.
2) Diversity is all about skin color: If you don’t have diversity of thought, then you don't have diversity. Since all democrats are discriminatory socialist minded bigots who condemn morality and ethical behavior while engaging in illegal and immoral behaviors, where is the diversity of thought there?
3) The federal government doesn't have to pay off the money it owes: Democrats insist we're not spending enough money but our government is trillions of dollars in debt. People give lip service to the idea that the debt is bad, but if we’re judged by our actions, most Americans, particularly democrats and other socialists, apparently believe that we never have to pay off what we owe. Try telling your bank, city, county, or state that you will not pay your taxes nor mortgage.
4) Ethics are irrelevant for politicians: Hard to believe but there was a time when politicians were held to HIGHER standards of ethics than the average person. Scumbags weren’t desired in office. If caught telling lies, it cost politicians’ their job. If holding politicians -- who lead us and make life and death decisions -- to a higher standard is wrong, then Americans shouldn’t want to be morally correct. However, our President and his party have, do, and will tell lie after lie and no one hold them or their paramours, the public media, accountable. Far too many people are cynical about integrity in politics which has disastrous consequences. Only scofflaws and reprobates benefit from such an unraveling of our ethical sensitivities.
5) It's fine for black Americans to be openly racist toward whites: Given our history, it's ironic the overwhelming majority of white Americans seem to want Martin Luther King’s colorblind world but a large number of black Americans actively support the view that discrimination based on race is fine. There are hundreds of black Americans openly expressing contempt and loathing for white Americans in the public eye and media. Not every black American feels that way; in fact a majority of them don’t, but the biggest bastion of race-based hate in America is unquestionably in the black community led by black race-baiters and abetted by media and dishonest politicians.
I believe these phenomena occur largely on the political left today. No, I won't violate my premise by lazily conceding both sides are equally culpable. It's inevitable that those who believe in moral relativism and the end justifies the means would lie far more often. If we are going to pretend that all politicians lie equally, especially about things that matter most, then we might as well give them our blessing and license to do whatever they please.
Wait, we did, We elected Obama, twice.
