Rubio Rising, Iran Prepares For War, The War Within The U.S.
by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author: Rubio Rising - "Flawless" might be too strong a word, but it's difficult to imagine how Marco Rubio's presidential campaign announcement could have gone any better. After his address yesterday evening at Miami's Freedom Tower, he did an hour-long interview with Sean Hannity that aired on Fox News last night.
National Journal's Ron Fournier praised Rubio's address, saying:"The Clinton campaign is really worried about him. They really are. Hillary gave him an advantage, but so did Obama by these relations with Cuba. So every time he said 'yesterday, yesterday, yesterday, past, past, past,' he may as well have said 'Clinton, Clinton Clinton, Bush, Bush, Bush.' . . .
"I think he's trying to talk about building the bridge to the 21st century that [Bill] Clinton promised to do in '96 and never quite got done. Very aspirational, very forward thinking. Very new generation. Good speech." It was a good speech. (Watch it here.) Here are a few excerpts:"At the turn of the 19th century, a generation of Americans harnessed the power of the Industrial Age and transformed this country into the leading economy in the world. And the 20th century became the American Century. Now, the time has come for our generation to lead the way toward a new American Century. . . .
"If we remember that family -- not government -- is the most important institution in society, that all life deserves protection, and that all parents deserve to choose the education that's right for their children, then we will have a strong people and a strong nation.
"And if America accepts the mantle of global leadership, by abandoning this administration's dangerous concessions to Iran, and its hostility to Israel; by reversing the hollowing out of our military; . . . by no longer being passive in the face of Chinese and Russian aggression; and by ending the near total disregard for the erosion of democracy and human rights around the world; then our nation will be safer, the world more stable, and our people more prosperous.
"This election is not just about what laws we will pass. It is a generational choice about what kind of country we will be." Iran Prepares For War - Israeli media report that Iran has already stepped up shipments of weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah in preparation for another war with Israel.
Perhaps Tehran thinks it can intimidate Jerusalem into not attacking its nuclear sites. That is clearly what its new Russian-made missile systems are meant to do. Some analysts have described the S-300 as a "game changer." These new missiles "would render an airstrike on Tehran's nuclear weapons facilities nearly impossible."
One senior military officer said, "Iran, with the S-300, can continue to do what they want once those systems are in place without fear of attack from anyone save the U.S. Brilliant chess move. . ."
The Islamic regime sees how the Obama Administration has isolated Israel and sees how desperate it is to sign a deal -- any deal -- regarding its nuclear weapons program. It is predictably seizing the advantage, like any aggressor would do.
The War Within The U.S. - Radical Islam's war against Western Civilization and Judeo-Christian values has grabbed headlines recently with mass atrocities in Iraq, Syria and Africa. But what is often overlooked is the very real war raging within the United States.
On Friday a would-be suicide bomber was arrested for plotting an attack on the U.S. Army base at Fort Riley, Kansas. Unfortunately, such threats against the homeland are becoming more frequent than I suspect many Americans realize.
Consider these recent headlines:Air Force Veteran Charged With Trying To Join ISIL, Politico, March 17, 2015.
Two U.S. Men Arrested In Plot To Attack Illinois Military Base, Reuters, March 26, 2015.
2 New York Women Accused Of ISIS-Inspired Bomb Plot, CNN April 2, 2015.
Philly Woman Accused Of Trying To 'Martyr Herself' For ISIS, CBS News, April 3, 2015.
Wisconsin Man Accused Of Trying To Join Islamic State, Wall Street Journal, April 9, 2015. ABC News reported Friday, "Over the past two years, nearly 50 Americans have been charged with trying to join ISIS or are suspected of taking action inspired by the group."
A recent study by the Heritage Foundation documents 64 terrorist plots against the U.S. homeland since 9/11. We keep hearing that the American people are weary of war. The fact is radical Islam is still at war with us and increasingly so on our own soil.

vs: Okay, Senator, that's about enough. Your comments and assurances are enough. I am totally sold on your potential for the nation's highest office. God bless you, sir, and your mission for America.
