Forget Home Boy Mike Huckabee, Arkansas GOP Gets Successful Rain Maker: Donald Trump
Donald J. Trump |
Donald Trump announced earlier this month that he was running for President of the United States. He gave a rousing speech at Trump Tower in New York. Trump urged Americans to join him in "making America great again," and said the typical politicians running on both sides won't be able to get the job done. Trump pledged to return manufacturing jobs to the U.S. by getting tough with China, Mexico and other nations that are ripping us off. After addressing other key items, he released his net worth which is about $9 $9 Billion. Below is a video of his announcement that he is running for president:
Trump will be addressing key leaders and supporters of the Arkansas GOP at The Reagan-Rockefeller Dinner, the party’s biggest fundraising event of the year.
“It’s always an exciting night, but this year will definitely be interesting with such a dynamic speaker,” Arkansas GOP Chairman Doyle Webb said.
Webb said the results of the November election add to the significance and excitement of this year’s event.
“Between the news of the speaker and the huge growth in support throughout the state, I expect this to be our best turnout ever.”
Republican candidates made major sweeping gains throughout the state in the 2014 elections, winning all seven state constitutional offices. The historic election put Republicans as the majority in both the state house and senate, as well as holding all U.S. Congressional offices.
“Mr. Trump brings a very unique dimension to next year’s democratic process as a private entrepreneur and business leader,” Webb said, noting that Trump is the second Republican presidential candidate to visit the state already.
“And we anticipate more candidates to come as the process accelerates.”
The Reagan-Rockefeller Dinner will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center and will also be attended by several state officials. The event is open to the public and ticket sales have already begun through the party’s website, www.arkansasgop.org, and via phone at 501-372-7301.
Arkansas Republican Party Chairman Dole Webb has done it again. Webb risked criticism when he asked former Gov and 2008 Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin to be the first keynote speaker for the RPA in 2010. However, Webb understood grassroots Arkansans, and the event drew both a large crowd and was the most successful single fund raising efforts to date for the RPA. As an aside, I remember interviewing parents who brought their children and sat in the "balcony cheap seats" to hears Sarah Palin. I heard one dad encouraging his daughter that she could be president one day.
Webb has almost guaranteed a far greater fundraising success this year. First, Donald Trump speaks when and where he likes to be speak. And Trump being a candidate means he will be speaking pro-bono at this event. Second, Donald Trumps willingness to travel to Arkansas demonstrates his reaching out to communicate with national grassroots voters.
If at the event, I wouldn't be surprised to hear parents encouraging their children that they too could be successful like Donald Trump. Surely, there will be a few in the crowd with daughters wishing to hear or even meet the owner of the The Miss Universe Organization - Miss USA Pagent ®, Miss Teen USA® and Miss Universes®.

Perhaps Mr. Webb understands ticket sales, but from what I've noted, he does not understand Arkansas' grassroot Republicans who read, understand and put into practice the Republican platform and who insist the Republican party lands in stark contrast to the other party.
