BREAKING: Lawsuit Filed To STOP Congress’s Fraudulent Obamacare Exemption
by Phil Kerpen, Contributing Author: Judicial Watch has filed a lawsuit against the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority for taking part in the ongoing Obamacare fraud in whichmembers of Congress and their staff are forcing taxpayers to pay for their health insurance by falsely certifying Congress as a small business. We’ve got to keep the heat on this outrageous scam.
The bureaucrats in the DC Obamacare authority let the House of Representatives and the Senate classify themselves as small businesses, each with less than 50 employees – even as more than 12,000 people signed up. That's 12,000 members of Congress and their staff having their healthcare paid for by you and me, via fraud.
I’m actually paying for this fraud twice – once as a federal taxpayer and again as a DC taxpayer (yes, my wife and I are crazy enough to actually live here). That’s what Judicial Watch is challenging in court – the use of DC tax dollars to enable this fraudulent swindling of federal taxpayers. Of course, we hope they succeed, but we know we can’t count on the courts.
When it comes to their own health care and the health care of their staff, members of Congress - including far too many Republicans – are going out of their way to avoid following the law. Some Republicans like Senator Cruz and Senator Vitter have made an effort to finally end Congress’s exemption and Judicial Watch’s lawsuit is another great attempt to force Congress to follow the laws they themselves passed.
Here at American Commitment we have worked tirelessly with all of you to fight against this fraud with over 110,000 letters sent to Congress so far, as well as joint letters with other conservative groups calling for investigations by oversight and ethics committees.
All of this keeps the issue in the public’s attention and stops Congress from getting away with committing fraud. Because if we don’t speak up, who is going to call out a Congress that thinks it’s above the law? And if Congress doesn’t have to feel the pain of Obamacare themselves, how will we ever get them to actually repeal it for the rest of us? Click here and tell Congress to END their illegal Obamacare exemption!
