Clinton on a Collusion Course with Google
by Tony Perkins: Liberals like to say they're the ones fighting big business. Don't buy it. The Left is so entangled with America's corporate interests that it's willing to risk national security to advance them. That's just one of the astounding revelations in the latest batch of Secretary Hillary Clinton's emails, which show a shocking amount of collusion with tech giant Google on the issue of Syria. Desperate to open the region to its web-based schemes, it seems Google had been heavily pressuring Clinton to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad.
"Please keep close hold," Google's Jared Cohen emailed to Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns in 2012, "but my team is planning to launch a tool ... that will publicly track and map the defections in Syria and which parts of the government they are coming from." In messages forwarded on to Clinton, Cohen goes on to explain, "Given how hard it is to get information into Syria right now, we are partnering with Al-Jazeera who will take primary ownership over the tool we have built, track the data, verify it, and broadcast it back into Syria."
The internet heavyweight wanted to encourage the Syrian uprising and track defections. But here's the rub. Not only was Google lobbying the Secretary of State to topple Assad, but it was doing so because it would be good for business. They were literally scheming with Hillary Clinton to further their own interest in the region. And what happened? Assad's government was essentially toppled, which only solidified ISIS's stronghold on the region, driving tens of thousands of Christians out of the area -- if they were lucky enough to survive.
Once again, Big Business is only interested in its own objectives, even if it means putting lives and American security at risk. Now, perhaps as a result, the world is now witnessing the largest forced migration since World War II, an explosion of terrorism, and the extermination of religious minorities across the Middle East. In the end, it was a bad decision for U.S., and an even worse one for ISIS's victims.
