Hillary's Dream, Why Did Ryan Run, Do Blue Lives Matter, Yom Kippur
Hillary Clinton jeopardized our national security and engaged in a systematic cover-up, destroying evidence and obstructing justice. What she did would have destroyed the career of any Republican. And yet we have people in our ranks worried about what Trump said 10-plus years ago. (Seriously, how is that a hard choice?)
Let me remind you of just one of the positions Hillary has staked out. She told a big corporate audience, "My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders."
In a time when there are hundreds of millions of people who want to walk into America, Hillary wants America to erase its border and merge with Mexico. Her dream is quite literally the end of our nation. It's no wonder Hillary cites Germany's Angela Merkel as the leader she most admires. Merkel is carrying out the "fundamental transformation" of Germany via open borders.
Meanwhile, church leaders in Europe are warning of an alien invasion that is threatening religious liberty and Europe's commitment to Western values. The people of Great Britain just rejected Hillary's dream of open borders, but that is what she embraces. That is the policy she is promising to promote here.
Hillary is promising to go further than Obama on executive amnesties.
Hillary is vowing to bring in even more Syrian refugees than Obama. During Sunday's debate, Clinton said, ". . .we need to do our part. We by no means are carrying anywhere near the load that Europe and others are."
But as I noted yesterday, a majority of the Paris attackers came into Europe as refugees. German police just arrested another "refugee" for plotting to wage jihad.
And Hillary knows these refugees can't be thoroughly vetted. She said as much during one of her private speeches. But it cost $400,000 to get the truth out of her. Average Americans who can't afford to attend one of her private speeches get stuck with Hillary's lies or her "public positions."
Only Donald Trump has had the courage to question why we keep allowing more and more people into the country from cultures where extremism and hatred run rampant. Only Donald Trump wants to make America great again by securing our borders and securing our sovereignty.
Why Did Ryan Run? When news of the 10 year-old tape broke Friday night, House Speaker Paul Ryan ran from Donald Trump as fast as he could. In a conference call with House Republicans, Ryan told them that he would no longer campaign with Trump or defend Trump. Ryan added that he was not endorsing Hillary, but he would be working only on down ballot races. Politico reports, however, "there's a distinct possibility Ryan will go a step further and completely yank his endorsement."
Some conservatives, such as my friends Representatives Dana Rohrabacher and Trent Franks, strongly pushed back against Ryan's retreat. Rohrabacher said, "We don't have to just be concerned about saving House seats. We have to be concerned about saving the United States of America."
I agree completely!
I like Paul Ryan personally. He is a very nice man with a wonderful family. But in my opinion, he simply does not understand American politics in 2016. He dreams of restoring Jack Kemp's vision of America, but that is so far from the reality we face, it is laughable.
We need people who understand that you can't do anything unless you win elections!
And you can't win elections if you run for the tall grass at the first sign of difficulty.
Ryan wants to spend time on down ballot races. We are working on these down ballot races too -- because we want President Trump to have a Republican majority that will work with him.
But exactly how does Speaker Ryan think a GOP Congress can stop President Hillary Clinton? Does he have some hidden strategies that they were unwilling to use against Barack Obama?
As I noted above, Hillary is doubling down on Obama's agenda. There will be more amnesties, more refugees and more executive orders.
What will Paul Ryan do differently next year that he was unable or unwilling to do this year?
Republican leaders surrendered the power of the purse, refusing to shut down the government. No one went to jail for the IRS scandal, the VA scandal, Benghazi, Fast and Furious or Hillary's mishandling of our national security secrets.
One of my favorite talk show hosts, Laura Ingraham, said this morning that Republican leaders proclaiming their neutrality in this race should just go volunteer at the nearest Hillary Clinton phone bank. They know that either Trump or Clinton will win, but their actions are making it more likely that Hillary prevails. And they know it.
Former Arksansas Governor Mike Huckabee said that the GOP "bed wetters" were actually afraid of Trump winning, that the establishment wants Hillary elected because Trump is the real change agent in this race.
Do Blue Lives Matter? Two California police officers were killed over the weekend. ABC News reported that "the gunman's father told a neighbor his son was armed, 'acting crazy' and wanted to shoot police."
Meanwhile, at the University of California at Irvine, radical activists with the Black Lives Matter movement held yet another protest. They are demanding the university disband the campus police department. They carried signs reading, "Blue Lives Don't Matter," "Police Kill The Mentally Ill," and "F--k the Police."
Forget what Donald Trump said ten years ago. Every GOP leader should demand that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama condemn this outrageous attack on law enforcement.
Does Congress have a strategy for fighting the complete cultural breakdown that is taking place in our cities and on our college campuses?
The American people are sick and tired of the left winning every single time. Finally, we have a candidate who is fighting back. We should be fighting WITH him, not against him.
Day Of Atonement - Jews throughout the world will begin observing Yom Kippur at sunset today. This is the holiest day of the Jewish year and it is a solemn day. It is known as the Day of Atonement because it marks God's forgiveness of His chosen people for the sin of the golden calf.
Many Israelis remember the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Arab armies took advantage of the holiday to launch a surprise attack against Israel. After intense fighting throughout the month of October, Israel ultimately prevailed.
On this solemn day, please join Carol and me in praying for the peace of Jerusalem and for a peaceful Yom Kippur for our Jewish friends.
