Hillary’s Enemies List: Randi Rogers

Today we hear from Randi Rogers, sales and marketing manager for holster manufacturing company Comp-Tac and a member of the Smith & Wesson shooting team, who has won more than 50 world and national titles in action shooting sports.

by Randi Rogers: In response to a Democratic presidential debate question on Oct. 13, 2015, Hillary Clinton put the 5 million members of the NRA at the top of the list of enemies she is most proud of.

This is unprecedented: On national television, a candidate for president of the United States named peaceable, law-abiding gun owners, who are simply trying to protect the Second Amendment, as her biggest enemies. She even listed NRA members ahead of Iran—the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Drug cartels, Vladimir Putin, North Korea and ISIS terrorists didn’t even get a mention.

Clinton’s declaration made us wonder how NRA members feel about being recklessly declared her enemy. So we decided to ask them: How does it feel to be named Public Enemy Number 1 by Hillary Clinton?

I grew up in Durango, Colo., where I was raised by my grandparents, who were NRA members. They clothed me, helped me with my homework and introduced me to the competitive sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. With their help, my involvement in that shooting sport taught me many important lessons growing up. I learned the importance of safety and responsibility by learning the basics of shooting, becoming an NRA instructor and then sharing my knowledge by helping others to improve their shooting skills. I learned how to be respectful of my elders and know that they are a gift of knowledge and experience that shouldn’t be taken for granted. I learned the value of hard work and how putting in time and effort can help you meet goals and make dreams come true.

I was able to attend college by working in my grandparents’ shooting school and receiving a scholarship from the Single Action Shooting Society, an NRA-affiliated competitive shooting organization. As an adult, I have made a career working in the outdoor industry, where I have served customers including members of the United State military, law enforcement professionals and people just like me who make a hobby of safely using firearms in activities like target shooting and hunting. My biggest joys in life are helping others experience the one-of-a-kind feeling that accompanies the sound of a bullet hitting a steel target, helping people understand that they can feel and be safe by exercising their Second Amendment rights, and helping the world know that firearms don’t have to be used for evil, but instead can be the most positive thing that ever happened to them.

Hillary Clinton has called the National Rifle Association and all of its 5 million members her enemy. Hillary wants to erase my past, stop my present and destroy my future by taking away firearms and shooting sports organizations.

So know this: Come November, I will be her enemy. Firearms and the shooting sports allow me to meet amazing people, travel around the country and support my family. Clinton wants to erase my past, stop my present and destroy my future by taking away firearms and shooting sports organizations. I won’t let it happen, and hope you won’t either.
