AG Rutledge: With Election Results, Time To Start “Curbing Back” Federal Regs
Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge |
Rutledge told the media at Trump Tower (I hear the taco bowls there are delightful) today:
Two other Arkansans who are the subject of rumors about joining the Trump administration are Sen. Tom Cotton as Defense Secretary and former Gov. Mike Huckabee as U.S. Ambassador to Israel.
One of those out-of-control federal regulations that’s ripe for the chopping block is the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan (CPP).
Like a lot of President Obama’s major actions, it was done through executive action rather than the approval of Congress. Therefore, President Trump could stop its implementation through executive action.
The CPP plan would dramatically raise utility costs for average Arkansans — essentially by closing down utility companies that are unable to bear the large compliance costs it would have created. The plan also places strict emissions limits on existing power plants.
That’s why the plan is currently the subject of a lawsuit by Rutledge and a bipartisan group of 29 Attorneys General.
If the Trump administration is serious about getting America winning “bigly” again, they’ll stop the CPP from being implemented.
