My Weekend Was Made Speaking To The Young America's Foundation
. . . And answering their excellent questions.
. . . And answering their excellent questions.
by Herman Cain: One of my favorite things about traveling the country and speaking is that I found out America is not quite what the media would have you believe it is. That's especially true when it comes to America's young people.
From much of what you hear, America's young people are a bunch of sponging Bernie Bros who want everything free and think everything should be handed to them. If it bothers you to think this is the profile of our younger generation, you need to get to know the Young America's Foundation. I had the privilege of speaking to YAF's annual Freedom Conference over the weekend in Dallas, and it was such an uplifting experience for me - and I hope for them too:
Here's my presentation, complete with the audience participation segment:
What excellent questions and comments! It's encouraging to have young people confirm that they do indeed care about the future of this country, and not just to the extent that there's something in it for them. Those of us who have been on this Earth a few years carry a lot of history in our direct memory, and sometimes we can let ourselves think that the importance of all this is lost on the young.
Well, not these young people! They've done their homework, they understand the underpinnings of this country and they care deeply about its future. I know I was the speaker, but these outstanding young Americans were the stars of the show. I was just glad to be a part of it.
