You Were Promised The Full Repeal Of Obamacare
Dan Holler |
In 2010, Republicans won back control of the House based on that promise. In 2014, they did the same with the Senate. And last year, Americans elected President Donald Trump in hopes of putting a nail in the coffin of Obamacare.
After seven years of promises, Republicans finally have a real opportunity to repeal Obamacare once and for all . . . And they are failing to honor that promise.
Conservatives in the House fought hard earlier this year. Heritage Action was in the trenches with them because the American Health Care Act did not address skyrocketing costs and premiums.
Now we are faced with the Senate’s version of the bill called the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA). This bill is not full repeal, but much like the House-passed version it is better than the status quo. Here’s how:
- Makes substantial changes to Medicaid. The BCRA’s changes to Medicaid, if implemented, will represent the most significant entitlement reform in the program’s history.
- Gives states the ability to opt out of parts of the harmful Title I regulations. The BCRA would allow Obamacare’s Section 1332 waivers to be used for conservative, free-market ends. These waivers do not allow states to get out of all of Obamacare, but they do give them enormous latitude.
- Repeals nearly $1 trillion in taxes. Obamacare raises taxes on every American that buys insurances to fund a government-centric insurance scheme. The BCRA would repeal those taxes.
- Partially ends federal funding for Planned Parenthood for one year. Not long enough, but a start!
Unfortunately, some Republican senators are trying to do the opposite. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska are fighting to protect Planned Parenthood. Dean Heller of Nevada is fighting to keep Obamacare’s unjustified expansion of Medicaid.
We need to stand with conservative senators as they fight to improve the bill and vigorously oppose efforts by moderate senators to fight for more big government spending. We must use the final week of debate to tell our senators to adopt amendments that would allow more flexibility in coverage options, further reform Medicaid, and introduce other market mechanisms into the health insurance markets.
The fight to repeal Obamacare is not over. Thank you to those who are standing in the trenches with us.

Remember, and know that with six months into his term, we are seeing the preliminary dismantling of OCare .. which should really take longer for even this much to be done. However, the problem is not with the President, it is with the liberal and establishment RINO obstructionists and the Shadow Government's Obedience to the socialist globalization, and until Trump replaces his staff advisors, and drains the swamp, we will continue at a snails-pace. I am more disappointed in the Trump Administration's continued avoidance of Senior citizens issues and Social Security repayment & reform ... I do not worry about Trump, but I do worry about the RINO establishment and RINO leadership. I voted for Trump and his leadership, so now it is time to let Congress know that I will continue to vote and support true conservatives.
