Dennis Milligan Elected New Arkansas Republican Party Chairman

Yesterday (Saturday 5/19), in Little Rock, delegates and officers of the Arkansas Republican Party elected Dennis Milligan (R-Bryant), Saline County Republican Chair, to lead the Arkansas Republican Party as its new chairman. Milligan, a 49-year-old businessman, was the only candidate nominated as the successor to State Sen. Gilbert Baker (R-Conway), who announced his resignation last month. Milligan was elected with an unanimous voice vote.

Speaking to about 150 delegates to the special RPA session, Milligan said,
"For many of you that just think I will be a caretaker, someone who will warm the seat until someone better can come along, I'd like to assure you very much that won't be the case. Right now we need to realize that as a party we are in a unique position. After 10 years with a Republican governor, we have hundreds of people who have and are serving on state boards and commissions. These people are the farm team for us to have for these entry-level positions. . . . A wise man once said, 'When you lose, don't lose the lesson.' That lesson is that we need to return to our core values, and that's what I'm going to do as your new chairman. It's time for a rediscovery of our values and our common sense."

Milligan identified that he will call together Republican legislators and other leaders to develop "THE (Taxes, Highways and Education) Plan." The goals of the plan will be stopping any new tax increases, finding ways to improve roads without raising taxes and finding ways to spend education dollars wisely, he said. Milligan said Republican losses in November occurred because "we lost our way and focused on power instead of our values - less government, more freedom and a belief that there is a right and wrong. We departed from the things that make the Republican party great."

Milligan prior to his election as chairman was the party's treasurer. Larry Tate, assistant treasurer, will serve as acting treasurer until a new treasurer is elected.

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001]" - Dennis Milligan, June 3, 2007

Good job, anonymous, in making people aware of the fact that the leader of the Arkansas Republican party is a snake, an enemy of this country who wants to stage false flag operations on American soil as a way to confuse the American public into believing that only neo-con Republicans are capable of governance. This is about erroding our constitutional rights.

Although the blog staff doesn't usually allow comments that look more like an attack on an individual than substance, we allowed the prior posting to give us an opportunity to relate some points of confusing by the former Anonymous poster:

1) It is interesting that the poster called Mr. Milligan a neo-con (or "neocon") when others have been calling him the exact opposite. Makes you wonder -- from which political party are these posts originating?

2) What is a "Neocon Republican"? To be "fair and balanced," let's pick a non-republican source for a definition. We will use the US News' definition:
"Both conservatives and neocon conservatives favor a robust US military. But most conservatives express greater reservations about military intervention and so-called nation building. Neocons share no such reluctance. Most neocons believe that the US has allowed dangers to gather by not spending enough on defense and not confronting threats aggressively enough.

Any regime that is outwardly hostile to the US and could pose a threat would be confronted aggressively, not "appeased" or merely contained. The US military would be reconfigured around the world to allow for greater flexibility and quicker deployment to hot spots in the Middle East, as well as Central and Southeast Asia. The US would spend more on defense, particularly for high-tech, precision weaponry that could be used in preemptive strikes. It would work through multilateral institutions such as the United Nations when possible, but must never be constrained from acting in its best interests whenever necessary."

So this leaves us to wondering what "anonymous" is really saying --Don't think Mr. Milligan is going to have a major influence on U.S. foreign or military strategy -- However, Milligan has clearly stated that he supports our troops deployed in the service of their country {as do all of the ARRA editorial staff!}.

Is Dennis Milligan for real when he said he wants terrorists to attack America? This guy is insane. How can new terrorists attacks on US soil help justify Bush and his illegal war in the middle east? If terrorists attacked us now it would only prove Bush’s incompetence and the failure of the conflict in Iraq to make us safer. It has in fact, made us exactly the opposite.

What a horribly irresponsible thing for Mulligan to say. Why doesnt he work to fix his own little trailer trash part of the country first and stop supporting parties that do everything in their power to inflame and incite hatred from the entire world to keep the Bushista Neo-con war machine rolling.

This guy is an [words removed by editors]...How would more terror attacks on US soil justify Bush and his wars? To me that would only prove the fact that Bush and his administration is incompotent and the war in Iraq has in fact, made us less safe.

I agree with anonymous. I would put my name on this but I don't want to have to sign up I have a class to go to in 10 min. Dennis Milligan is a tool. It takes a moron to not realize the sophisticated attack on 9/11 requires domestic complicity. This guy litterally is a dumb dumb. Reminds me of Peter Griffin on Family Guy. Let's get this fear monger out of politics and back to sitting watching football. How can I personally contact him, let me know [Moderated: anonymous' email address removed by ARRA Editor - to contact Mr. Milligan visit the RPA website at arkansasgop.org - you do not need to sign up to post your name or pseudonym]

It's hard to believe that someone would wish such a thing on the American people.

So what part of the country does Mr. Milligan want attacked?

Is Mr. Milligan going to resign from his position now?

He should, because we surely don't need people who wish for attacks against the American people in a leadership position.

God Bless America!

I believe what the previous anonymous is trying to relate is Dennis is encouraging American bloodshed on united States soil in order to prove Bush policy correct. The results of such an attack would birth the fascist dictatorship that has been planned to consume freedom for so long.

"We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
- David Rockefeller to Trilateral Commission in 1991

Yeah theres no conspiracy against we the people.

I wonder if Milligan has been to Iraq or has any military experience or has any kin in the war?

Milligan, like the majority of Americans after the draft ended, has not served in the military.

Milligan's comments were taken completely out of context! He's a great American who wants nothing more than to see this great country stay free from terrorist attacks. Please don't misunderstand or underestimate his patriotism! Those of you who would believe that he would want any harm to come to this country are, at best, ill advised!

“At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country,” Milligan said.

I don't think there is an American on either side of the political aisle that does not appreciate the sacrifices that are being made by our men and women in the military. The difference in opinion lies in the choice of the location of the battlefield.
I also don't believe that Mr. Milligan wishes another attack on domestic soil to "prove" that Pres. Bush is correct. It just sounds like he does. If, God forbid, an attack does occur it will serve the opposite purpose. Fighting them over there to prevent fighting them over here would have been proven an unsuccessful policy. Mr. Milligan would be well served by advisors that remind him to think before he speaks.

Give me a break anonymous. Milligan's comments were not taken out of context. He is wishing harm upon the people of this country.

How dare you wish more attacks on American soil. How dare you wish another attack like 911. My daughter is moving to NYC, I have friends that live there. Milligan has no business in any position in the United States government. I read the transcript of what he said and this was not taken out of context, he needs to be out of office NOW, for the sake of this country.

I lost two friends in the WTC.
Milligan had no right to wish for more attacks.
How would he feel if it was HIS daughter or sister or brother, missing for months, only to be identified months after the fact as nothing more than a few shards of charred bone.

I was in NYC every week after 9/11 and it was horrible. signs everywhere for missing people, people randomly crying in the street and you always knew why. you'd walk by the site (or as close as you could get) and the smell was always there. It smelled like death.
This guy wants MORE of that?
Despicable. I'll be calling milligan personally tomorrow.

Well thats almost as smart a way to justify it as catching the supposed perpetrators of the first attack...

Oh wait a second...
