State Unemployment Figures Confirm Failure of Obama Stimulus Bill
House Republican Conference: Eight months ago the President signed a $787 billion "stimulus" bill that had been rammed through the House without a single Republican vote. At the time Democrats claimed the bill would "save or create" 4 million U.S. jobs. Since then, nearly 3 million jobs have been lost and the unemployment rate has soared from 8.1 percent to a 26-year high of 9.8 percent.
As the unemployment rate reaches 10 percent for the first time since 1983, the Administration continues to send mixed messages about the economic situation. On one hand, the White House has touted the success of the "stimulus," saying that it already "added between 600,000 and 1.1 million to employment," even as unemployment grew. On the other hand, the President admitted that the "stimulus" has done little for jobs and growth, and argued that more government action needs to be taken, saying, "there is more we need to do. And that's why today, we're announcing new steps to support more lending to America's small businesses-steps that will lead to more jobs, more growth, and a stronger economic recovery."
The Democrats cannot hide the regrettable truth that the State unemployment numbers for September continue to reveal: since the Democrats "stimulus" passed 46 States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have seen increased unemployment as the Democrats big-spending policies fail. Now, while Americans suffer in the midst of this economic crisis, Democrats continue their attempts to ram through a government takeover of health care which includes trillions of dollars in taxes and new entitlement spending, as well as a national energy tax. After rejecting a Republican stimulus alternative that would have created twice as many jobs at half the cost, Democrats continue to stifle jobs, handcuff growth, and prolong the economic crisis with new deficits, debt, taxes on job creators and government expansions.

As Democrats of the Democratic Party, we join together in seeking reform within the Democratic Party.
Many of the elected representatives within the Democratic Party are no longer following in the time-honored footsteps laid down by the founding fathers of our great Nation. More importantly, we as democrats see our elected representatives within the Democratic Party abandoning the values and principles as set forth within the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
Overall, this is only the beginning of our problems as Democrats. The current Democratic Party leadership is corrupted and full of Socialists, and they are gaining evermore control over the members of the Democratic Party, or Nation, and the American people. At the very least, many of them no longer think of themselves as being our elected representatives, and now refer to themselves as leaders of Socialism in the true form of tyrants.
Most Democrats already know their pleas are only being answered by repeated insult and injury by their elected representatives within the Democratic Party. Despite this, we as Democrats can restore control of the Democratic Party back to the party members. All we need to do is cut off donations to the local, state, and national headquarters of the Democratic Party, and to make sure the donations are made directly to patriotic and honorable Democratic Party candidates that are not corrupted and/or Socialist.
So spread the message to everyone of our fellow Democrats, for the Democrat members are taking back control of the Democratic Party. Also, please don't forget to contact and request the Unions and other outside contributors to follow our lead as patriotic Americans.
Thank you, and God Bless America.

Wow, that is an interesting comment. Considering that the Democratic Party started the slide towards socialism back in the 30's, they have quite the job ahead of them.
I remember there being numbers out a few months ago comparing unemployment vs. stimulus funds. The states that were getting the stimulus funds had higher rates afterwards!
Nah, really. I couldn't believe he would give us change that didn't work!
I reposted it with a portion of a comment from a Democrat (not vetted) who talked about the party being taking over by tyrants taking the country socialist. The table is a great reference. Gives us an easy way to judge how effective the bottom up Obamanomics is verses the trickle down economics. No comparison. I think that they just have to work out the part about teaching the poor people how to create jobs and pay producers. Obanomics = 1/Trickle Down Economics. They are the inverse of each other and we are like a laboratory trying out some ivory tower theory that sounds amazingly good if you have the right stuff in your system and you are hanging with some like minded people under a similar influence.
The article makes broad claims that are premature. Merely 1/5 of the ARRA money has been spent and the act is in its infancy stage. It is way to early to be calling the stimulus a failure. As Bush said that history would prove that the war Iraq was the right thing, everyone should look at the effects of the stimilus in retrospect to truly understand its impact.
It would be nice if your claim was true. The fact are: At the time Democrats claimed the bill would "save or create" 4 million U.S. jobs.
However, The Bureau of labor Statistics on Oct 2, 2009 reported:
"Among the unemployed, the number of job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs rose by 603,000 to 10.4 million in September. The number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks and over) rose by 450,000 to 5.4 million. In September, 35.6 percent of unemployed persons were job-less for 27 weeks or more."
It turns out that the Stimulus money is not being used to support employment. Today (10/23/09), "In a startling forecast, White House economic adviser Christina Romer said Thursday that the nation's soaring unemployment rate is likely to remain at a "severely elevated level" even if it moves up or down a bit. . . . At first, Obama aides predicted stimulus spending would hold the jobless rate below 8 percent -- a prediction they now admit was off the mark.
"At the time, our forecast seemed reasonable. Now, looking back, it was clearly too optimistic," Jared Bernstein, chief economist for Vice President Biden, said in June."
While 60% of the Stimulus package is left, the focus remains in "saving jobs" not creating new Jobs."
Hope. Change. Double-digit unemployment. Misery. Failure.
My company needs a lot of people who are not afraid to do work. The rewards are greater than any other company that I know of.
Hey, come on...its not all bad news. They "only" had 501,000 new applications for unemployment last week. Without the "porkulous" bill it could have been 501,001!! Unemployment is now about 15 million people. Come on they are smart enough that the way the stimulus was written by Jones (Founder of the Weatherman with Bill Ayers and on the board of Tides Foundation) they should have known that the pork and paybacks would not create jobs, right? Could they be "stupid" or "crazy like a fox"????
A simple answer - obes could have come out as soon as he won the election and said, "Folks, back in the 80s, President Reagan used some principles that obviously worked. My team will immediately set out to implement those same principles and turn this all around." Had he said that, we would not have lost one job because there WOULD have been hope and confidence in the future. Because he did NOT do this, we can only expect the opposite ending - and, isn't that we are seeing? If there is anyone reading this that thinks he IS trying to fix it for the better under what you have already seen, are you frikkin' kidding us?
Joe, I know you get what is going on as I do. You certainly do say what you think!!! Thanks for your comments!
