VIDEO: Marco Rubio [R] "We Don't Need New Taxes, We Need New Taxpayers"
Marco Rubio talks about the real deficit problem and asks which new taxes create jobs! [Source]
Some Quotes from the speech:"First of all, if you taxed these people at 100% … it still doesn’t solve the debt. Not only does that not solve the debt problem, but I looked at a host of other … tax increases being proposed by our colleagues in the Democratic Party and the president to solve the debt problem. And you add them all up … the jet airplanes, the oil companies, all of the other things they talk about — you put them all together in one big batch, and you know what it does? It basically deals with nine days and 23 hours worth of deficit spending. …. Let’s round it off. … It buys them 10 days of deficit spending reduction."
"That is the real face of unemployment in America, of people that are hurting. And our job here is to do everything we can to make it easier for them to find a job, not harder. And I think that’s what we have to do when it comes to a balanced approach and when we talk about revenue.
We don’t need new taxes. We need new taxpayers, people that are gainfully employed, making money and paying into the tax system. And then we need a government that has the discipline to take that additional revenue and use it to pay down the debt and never grow it again. And that’s what we should be focused on, and that’s what we’re not focused on.
So you look at all these taxes that are being proposed, and here’s what I say. I say we should analyze every single one of them through the lens of job creation, issue number one in America."

John P Haynes III Which is why abortion should stop.
We don't need new taxes or taxpayers we need a government that can operate within its limits and means.
Rubio almost got it right, didn't he? That's pretty good, considerin' he' s a congresscritter....
Scott, Strange that you call Rubio a Congress "Critter." This was his first speech on the Floor of The Senate since being elected and his speech clearly showed why the people of Florida elected him over the RINO in the primary and then the liberal in the general election. If he keeps this up, I will call him Patriot. [In full attribution, I endorsed Marco Rubio in his race for the US Senate on Florida's America's Best Choice blog which I also edit.]
I agree with you that Rubio is a patriot but they need to focus on cutting spending. Increasing the tax base would be a good thing, but they still need to cut spending.
That is what the House GOP leadership is pushing "Cut, Cap, and Balance" Here is a quote form one of my prior articles with links removed but you can read it also at http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/2011/07/speaker-boehner-and-house-republicans.html
-------------
The ARRA News Service applauds Speaker Boehner for leaving the this . As identified in prior articles, the majority of the American people want their representative in the "People's House" "to listen and commit to three things: "Cut, Cap, and Balance” in any response to the debt limit and the debt crisis. While the Obama administration was simply more taxes and continued big spending, the people see that no agreement can be reached without:
Cut spending to slash the deficit in half next year (requiring about $380 billion in spending cuts according to CBO)
Cap spending so it aligns with average revenues (ratcheting quickly down to 18% of GDP from current 24%).
Send a strong Balanced Budget Amendment to the states for ratification (with high hurdle for tax hikes and 18% of GDP spending cap).
