WhiteHouse.gov and USA.gov. Blame Congress For Not Being Up To Date
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here". Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better" ~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 16, 2006
Bill Smith, Editor: After the President Obama's "un-stellar" speech today addressing the present debt limit, I went to the White House website to get a copy of his published speech to compare with my notes of what I heard him say before I commented and bumped it against his 2006 comment. Maybe Congress should send the last proposal back to the Senate and let them reject it again. What's the point? that would be the point, Ried, Obama, Democrats refuse to talk or even let the Senate vote..... the House has voted
Congress had nothing to do with website design, plan design or administration. The White House is completely out of line for passing their buck. They are stuck with their buck. Only a fool would accept the transfer of responsibility. Only a foolish media outlet would leave such a statement unchallenged.
