Indiana Democrat Results - Today's Democrat Party
by Gary Bauer, Contributing Author: Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders scored a surprising upset win last night in Indiana's Democrat primary. Prior to yesterday's vote, Clinton was leading in the polls by an average of seven points. But last night Sanders won 53% to 48%.
Speaking at his victory rally, Senator Sanders said, "I understand Secretary Clinton thinks this race is over. I've got some bad news for her." He then vowed to fight on in West Virginia, Kentucky and other states and then take his fight to the convention floor.
Sanders' victory, however, didn't do much to change the dynamics of the Democrat contest. Clinton is far ahead of Sanders in the delegate count -- 2,202 to 1,400.
Clinton has 92% of the delegates needed to win her party's nomination. As one pundit said, she could lose every remaining contest by 20 points and still get the delegates needed to secure the nomination.
It is worth pointing out that the count among delegates actually won in the primaries is much closer -- 1,682 for Clinton to 1,361 for Sanders. Hillary's big lead comes from 520 so-called "superdelegates."
Unless something happens to change their minds between now and the Democrat National Convention in July, Hillary Clinton will be the Democrat nominee this November.
Today's Democrat Party
Ed Rendell, former governor of Pennsylvania, was on CNBC this morning attempting to spin Hillary as a moderate. But the business network hosts weren't buying it, pointing out that she has been pushed to the left by Sanders and agrees with him on most issues. If anything, Sanders may be to Clinton's right on the Second Amendment.
As we have seen time and again this primary season, the heart and energy of the Democrat Party is embracing an economic system -- socialism -- that is completely foreign to America. Every success that we have had creating wealth and prosperity was based on free market economics.
But the heart and soul of one of our major parties is now all in with the economic system that has ruined numerous countries around the world. Ironically, this is taking place while socialist Venezuela is unraveling before our eyes.
Culturally, the entire Democrat Party is all in on radical social change, abortion on demand, restrictions on religious liberty -- a core principle of our founding.
On foreign policy, the party of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy is now firmly in the camp of pacifism. It is controlled by those who think America needs to be constrained because we are the oppressors.
The odds are high that Hillary Clinton will be the nominee of her party. Ironically, the future of the Democrat Party belongs to 74 year-old Bernie Sanders.
America is a two party country, and each party regularly gets opportunities to govern. The success of Bernie Sanders is a clear signal that Barack Obama has transformed his party into something almost alien to the entire American experience.

Neither one of these people are for me or The best interests of the state and world wide. I don't want to have a socialist for president because I don't live in Russia . I do not want Hillary Rodham Clinton for president, because I do not want more years of Obama slapping me in the face again. My daughter couldn't even afford health insurance under Obamacare!! The program for insurance under the government is unfair to US citizens and we need a businessman With a excellent staff for our government. There is too much government and Washington DC and too many jobs that should be done away with entirely!
