America On Fire
Despair makes you set fire to your own neighborhood. Rage answers lawlessness with more lawlessness. Rioters have destroyed black-owned businesses—businesses the owners spent a life-time building.
The looters don’t want justice, they want free stuff—and many of them are white. Violent protesters aren’t honoring George Floyd’s memory. They are adding pain and grief—especially to the family George Floyd left behind.
Why is all of this happening to America? David Wilkerson didn’t just see New York City shutdown in one hour in his vision that many say predicted the virus. He also saw 1,000 fires burning in New York at one time. Are these riots all across America that next thing he saw?
I hated to feel it. I hated knowing I was right. I was haunted by a conviction that the pandemic and the collapse of our economy was not the end of our misery in 2020. Too many of the videos that I saw which were produced by Christians, confirmed my deepest dread. Most ministries did not see any need to change their message—or discard the carnal and man made doctrines and traditions. Repentance was hard to find, and the little there was, was mostly shallow rhetoric.
Christian music should have turned away from materialism and entertainment during the pandemic. Instead, the lead singer of a well-known worship band publicly announced he no longer believes in Jesus.
They were singing the same songs, speaking the same company-line, with little remorse, and even less soul searching. What should have been a catalyst to crying out to God for cleansing and mercy, became nothing more than a bothersome interruption. We held on to our sin, and rather than allowing God to remove it, many ministers just decided to ride it out.
We have refused correction. Jeremiah 5:3, “O Lord, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to return.”
The last thing the church should ever tell God is that the adversity He sent was not enough to change her. God did not send the virus, but He is God, and He can use anything to bring about His own plans. But I don’t believe it achieved His desired end—which was to wake up His church.
God warned Israel about rejecting His early dealings—warning that harsher measures could follow.
The Lord also spoke to me again, saying: Inasmuch as these people refused the waters of Shiloh that flow softly…now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up over them the waters of the River, strong and mighty—the king of Assyria and all his glory; he will go up over all his channels and go over all his banks (Isaiah 4:5-7).
If Christian apathy has survived the pandemic, imagine what is happening out in the world. If the church has not been moved to repentance, then what is happening to the culture? America has voted devils into State Houses, and they have shut down the Church. America is shaking her fist at God in wickedness and defiance. Liars control virtually every bastion of our media and information.
Some will read this blog and reject my message. I say to them: Listen to yourself! Listen to what you are defending. Listen to why this makes you angry. Shouldn’t you even consider that America is on track for as much trouble as it takes for God to save it?
Yet in all of this, there is good news. A core of godly praying people are standing between heaven and earth in intercession and repentance. There are preachers who are openly rejecting the criminal limitations that are being placed on their church. There are heroes rising up, and their numbers are growing every day.
Tomorrow, the Spirit will fall in a modern Day of Pentecost, in every house that defies the oppression of evildoers. Satan timed this in an attempt to discourage the core of believers and to dissuade the faithful from pressing into revival.
It is a time of both great darkness and great light. It is a time when the Army of God will find their full authority and might—even as evil plunges the world into blackness. It is time for us to arise, and shine!
Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising (Isaiah 60:1-3).
