Clinton was too often AWOL

When Bill Clinton cited Richard Clarke's book in his defense, he forgot that people might actually have read it. And when he rewrites history, he forgets other people were there and saw it differently. On Page 223 of Clarke's book, "Against All Enemies," he describes a meeting after al-Qaida's attack on the USS Cole. Clinton in the meeting said neither the CIA nor the FBI would verify al-Qaida's responsibility for the attack. Clarke quotes Mike Sheehan, a State Department official, as saying in frustration: "What's it going to take, Dick? ... "Does al-Qaida have to attack the Pentagon to get their attention?" As it turns out, that was the case.

In the Wallace interview, Clinton claimed that "if I were still president, we'd have more than 20,000 troops (in Afghanistan) trying to kill (bin Laden)." Well, sir, you were president and you didn't send any troops to Afghanistan or anywhere else to try to kill him. In fact, during all the multiple opportunities you had to deal al-Qaida a mortal blow before 9/11, Mr. Clinton, you failed .... When the World Trade Center was attacked in 1993, you went to court.
