Mass. governor attacks gay marriage

Mitt Romney, Governor of Massachusetts, the only state where gay marriage is legal, said in a broadcast to religious conservatives. "The price of same-sex marriage is paid by the children," the governor said. "The child's development is enhanced by the nurturing of parents of both genders. Every child deserves a mother and a father." He also said churches are being denied the right to religious freedom, citing Catholic Charities' decision to drop its adoption program because it was legally required to consider gay couples.
