Anti-War Protestors Spray Paint Graffiti on Capitol Steps
During an anti-war demonstration, protesters were "allowed" by Capitol police to spray paint graffiti on part of the west front steps of the United States Capitol building. NO ARRESTS! The March for Right for Life earlier this month had hundreds of thousands - what if they had spray painted graffiti on the US Capital steps? I am sure someone would have been arrested. The problem of bullies is not only schools but also in the members of this demonstration. Free Speech does not extend to spray painting graffiti on the Capitol and other government property.
Below is a report by FRC Radio correspondent Bethanie Swendsen reports from the Capital grounds:
FRC has uncovered more shocking details about the anti-war march in Washington this past weekend. For such a small crowd, the demonstrators were an interesting bunch of people - everything from actors and anarchists to the members of Congress who marched alongside them, including: Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Reps. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Jerry Nadler (D-NY), and House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-MI). Also addressing the crowd from his prison cell was convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal. After talking to members of the Capitol Hill police, FRC discovered that one reason the officers held back from confronting one batch of protestors was because the anarchists threatened the officers with bottles of human urine. Additional damage done to both city and personal property includes a news truck pelted with rocks and spray-painted street signs. Good video report. congressman and demand that the police answer for their failure to protect government property. I bet if I spray painted "God Bless Our Troops" on the US Capitol steps, I would have been arrested and also held responsible for the cost of cleaning up the graffiti.
Police were ordered to fall back by the Capitol police and allow protestors to graffiti our Capitol. Expect more of these type of reports at peace demonstrations. Wonder when they're going to start showing flag burning? No arrests?

This is the heights of stupidity. Can you imagine allowing protesters to spray paint the U.S. Capital to satisfy their First Amendment rights. I E-Mailed the following to Bill O'Reilly to see if he has the guts to take this on.
Come on O' Reilly What desk are you hiding under? Why have you not made this information available to your listing audience? My wife and I have been listing & watching your programs since you first came to Fox. Are we now going to have to move to another program to get the facts and on time.
I am from Arkansas. I was at the anti-war rally. I was also at the steps of the Capitol during the aforementioned situation, filming the protest and the Capitol Police who were shoving protesters and running them down with motorcycles. I saw absolutely no spray painting going on. The alleged graffiti was done with harmless sidewalk chalk by children. I have a full video account of this situation and I can assure you that if any one of the protesters even so much as brandished a spray paint can, the officers would have clobbered them. This story is a complete lie and I have the footage to prove it.
In respect to the prior anonymous comment, "show us the proof." Unless you are willing to post your "full video" account via U-Tube or some other venue so we may all see it, how can we value your preception of the incident. Obviously if you were there participating, you were a protestor.
Other independent sources are conflicting your statement about the graffiti. Even The Hill News which reports on congressional activity also reported the incident at http://www.thehill.com/thehill/export/TheHill/News/Frontpage/012507/protesters.html.

Anti-war protesters were allowed to spray paint on part of the west front steps of the United States Capitol building after police were ordered to break their security line by their leadership, two sources told The Hill.
According to the sources, police officers were livid when they were told to fall back by U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Phillip Morse andDeputy Chief Daniel Nichols. "They were the commanders on the scene," one source said, who requested anonymity. "It was disgusting."
After police ceded the stairs, located on the lower west front of the Capitol, the building was locked down, the source added.
A second source who witnessed the incident said that the police had the crowd stopped at Third Street, but were told to bring the police line in front of the Capitol.
Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps and began to spray paint "anarchist symbols" and phrase such as "Our capitol building" and "you can’t stop us" around the area, the source said.
Morse responded to these claims in an e-mail Sunday afternoon explaining that the protesters were seeking confrontation with the police.
"While there were minor instances of spray painting of pavement by a splinter group of Anarchists who were seeking a confrontation with the police, their attempts to breach into secure areas and rush the doors of the Capitol were thwarted," Morse said. "The graffiti was easily removed by the dedicated [Architect of the Capitol] staff, some of whom responded on their day off to quickly clean the area."
He added, "It is the USCP's duty and responsibility to protect the Capitol complex, staff and public while allowing the public to exercise their First Amendment rights … at the end of the day, both occurred without injury to protestors or officers."
Yet, the sources who talked to The Hill were furious that protesters were not stopped before reaching the Capitol.
"To get that close to the Capitol building, that is ridiculous," the second source said. "[Police] were told not to arrest anyone."
The second source added that police had to stand by and watch as protesters posed in front of their graffiti.
As to the comment that I was a participating "Protester", well, I will say that if media personnel are always participants in any situation they are witness to, then, yes, I was a protester.
I was a non paid media person at this event. I will be happy to submit the uncut footage as soon as I can. As an UNPAID journalist, I have to balance between my passions and my full time job. I have some catching up to do (work)at the moment.
I will forward a link to the footage ASAP, if you will keep this story up.
As to the story you have cut and pasted by Jackie Kucinich- in my opinion, it holds about as much credibility as any FOX NEWS story.
The above media journal is about as credible as any left wing conspiracy theorist blog. Stupid is as stupid does, on either side of the fence.
The one thing that I will agree on in the said "News" article is that the Police were extremely aggressive in the beginning. When they suddenly realized that they were surrounded by media (corporate news included) they backed off. I have no idea who gave them the orders, but I would dare to say that it was probably for the best. Beating the crap out of people, whether they be anarchist, socialist, anti-war protesters, fascist, or pacifist, is usually a huge public relations problem that the current administration cannot contend with.
I will post a link to my footage as soon as I can.
Until then, I would ask that people who are reading this do some research for themselves and see if there are any legit media sources covering this story. I doubt it, because it did not happen.
