Northwest Arkansas Republican enjoys 'seat at table' in House leadership
By John Lyon, Arkansas News Bureau: Even with Democrats holding the governor's office, all the top state offices and majorities in both houses of the Legislature, one state lawmaker says it isn't a bad time to be a Republican in Arkansas. "I'm sure things would be a little more conservative if they made me king for a day, but I've been very pleased so far with the session, what we've gotten done," said Rep. Keven Anderson, R-Rogers. "It's a to-the-right-of-center agenda, in my opinion."
Anderson has emerged as a leader in the House this session. The third-ranking House member in seniority, he serves as chairman of the House Revenue and Taxation Committee and was one of the lead sponsors of a package of legislation expected to reduce Arkansans' taxes by more than $300 million, the largest tax cut in state history. ....
