Vermont wants to impeach the Prez/Veep
by Mark A Kilmer (as posted on his weblog): Perhaps stoned on the Maple syrup, Vermont’s State critters want to impeach Bush/Cheney: "The Vermont state senate passed a symbolic resolution on Friday calling on the U.S. Congress to impeach U.S. President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney over their handling of the unpopular Iraq war. The resolution, passed by a 16 to 9 vote, urges Vermont’s representatives in Washington to introduce a resolution in Congress requiring the U.S. House Judiciary Committee to start impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney. Vermont’s congressional delegation has shown no serious interest in the idea, and the new Democratic-controlled Congress has also steered clear of the subject. . . . Vermont, known for its colonial inns, maple sugar, autumn foliage and century-old dairy farms…" A great place to visit, but don’t drink the water.Tags:Dick Cheney, Impeachment, Mark Kilmer, President George Bush, Vermont, vice presidentTo share or post to your site, click on "Post Link". The prior anonymous comment made an error in identifying HR333. The correct bill is H. Res. 333 (a House Resolution introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and co-sponsored by three other democrats: Rep Wm Clay (D-MO), Rep Janice Schakowsky (D-IL) & Rep Albert Wynn (D-MD).
The implication that only "real" Americans are writing campaign concerning the impeachment is slanted as if those who do not wish to see such an impeachment action are not "real."
Fortunately, we give the minority viewpoint in our country the opportunity to express itself.
It is odd that Kucinich and others focus their vitriolic attack on the Vice President who had no authority to vote (like Congress) (and did not cast a tie-breaking vote to commit troops) to the war in Iraq. Why not impeach all of the congressional members who were in office prior to the arrival of Bush & Cheney, and who promoted that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Was Cheney and Bush to ignore all this congressional wisdom?
This proposed impeachment action is another case of confusing political animosity with genuine crimes.
