Proud to be an American -- Please Comment!
ARRA Editor:Maybe you received an email from an "unnamed Washington DC GOP group" stating: "WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Dear Friend: As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, I want to invite you to share with us why you are Proud to be an American! ..."
They wanted you to email your comments. They also hoped you would even share this email with others. But did you understand that once you responded, you confirmed your email address which could be added to their fund raising file. You are now a potential donor -- expect more email. Many of us supported these types of Washington DC orgs until we learned that these groups sent ZERO dollars from the donations received prior to last general election to any of our Congressional candidates or to support the State GOP efforts. Many decided from that day on to to directly support our own congressional candidate and to donate to political groups with the State. Recommend, giving your political contributions to LOCAL Republican Political Action Committees in your State and directly to the candidates you support. Keep your hard earned money out of the DC "SINK tanks."
Let's do something similar to their request but with no email address required. There are thousands of reasons why we as Americans can be proud. Please take a moment now that you celebrated July 4th to think about what exactly makes you proud to be an American, and then post your comment below -- just free speech and sharing!!Tags:4th of July, 2007, campaign funds, Proud AmericanTo share or post to your site, click on "Post Link". Maybe not proud. More like grateful for the flag in the front yard, for the troops overseas and at home, for the preservation of the intrinsic value of citizenship by the defeat of the amnesty bill, for the growing community of free speech of which this blog is a part, for the freedom to shoot some rifles and revolvers, for the flavor of barbecued ribs, for my family.
Why am I proud to be an American? I will tell you why...
Because in America, we have the freedom to travel from East to West, North to South without checkpoints, fear of religious retalliation, or corrupt officials blackmailing you for your money.
In America, you can climb a mountain and look down on the amber waves of grain, knowing that they are most likely going to be harvested and sent free of charge to feed a third world country.
In America, I have the freedom to support political movements, denounce my government, or support it for that fact, without fear of detention or execution by secret police.
In America, I can pray how I want, to a God that I want, without fear of beheading or ridicule... unless the ACLU is involved :)
In America, we fight for live... each and every one of us will inherantly give ourselves to save our neighbor...
So for all these reasons, and many more, I am proud to live in the Greatest Country on God's Green Earth!
I'm proud to be an American because I've been blessed to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. I thank God that we still stand for right and freedom.
I served in the USAF for over 22 years and remember arriving at Hickman AFB, HI after a two year assignment in Asia. I got down on my knees and kissed the ground. I was thankful to be back in the USA and to see the joy of people going on about enjoying their lives. Although it would not to be the last time that I would go from and return to this great land, it was my first experience living an extended period outside of America.
I am proud to be an American because of others who also served and are servings this great nation to defend the rights of fellow Americans.
Although I appreciate all of the rights in our Bill of Rights, I especially appreciate my right to assemble and to worship. I would worship God and my Lord even if I did not have this right but after living in foreign countries one comes to appreciate what so many taken for granted. God Bless America.
I dedicated 23 years of my life to this nation, I served her in any way she needed me to, I love America and would gladly do it all again if I was able...
I'm not at all happy with our current leadership, I feel we were 'BS'd' on his Conservative credentials and in my blog I criticize his administration harshly, and that's another thing I love about America, the very fact that we CAN criticize the POTUS and not have to fear for our personal freedom by doing so...
America, for all her faults, is STILL the most wonderful nation on this earth, that's why others hate us the way they do, simple jealousy, gone to extremes in some cases, but jealousy none the less...
God HAS blessed this nation, and I hope he continues to bless her and give us the strong leadership we need and deserve...
