Gingrich Wants $30 Million to "Maybe" Run
Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: Gingrich supporters indicate that Newt's National workshops and the many home based groups established to study Newt's book have nothing to do with "campaigning" or should I say "pre-campaigning." "Newt's not campaigning - when pigs fly." Newt - cut the bull and be honest! We don't need a repeat of your mistake in Congress. You are smarter than that. You have good ideas but you also demean those ideas, your fellow Republicans and the American voters by pompous taunting comments and tactics. Talk about bravado - Newt now wants $30 million in his non-existed campaign coffers by November. Here's the latest news . . .
by Libby Quaid, AP: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he still might run for president if supporters will pledge $30 million by November. "You can't bring all your good ideas if you don't have the resources to communicate," Gingrich told reporters. . . . Gingrich is holding a national Internet-based workshop next week. Afterward, his top political adviser, Randy Evans, will spend October seeing if he can generate pledges of $30 million, which Gingrich said would be needed to compete . . . . On Nov. 1, if the pledges pan out, Gingrich will consider running, he said. He didn't say when he would decide, but noted that Nov. 13, when Ronald Reagan announced his candidacy in 1979, is a "propitious" date. . . .

And crap like THIS is exactly why I wouldn't support Newt if he was the only one in the race...
An after thought: If people will give ME $30M I'll think about running for POTUS too...
$30M and he'll THINK about it?? He outta be shot for trying to rob people like that...
Instead of "I'm running for President of the United States because it is the right thing to do," we get, "Collect $30,000,000.00 and I might consider running for President."
Really? I guess that was just his way of saying, "I'm not going to run for President because I know it isn't the right thing to do...besides the fact that I don't stand a snowballs chance in hell of winning."
Does Newt seeking $30 million by November remind anyone here of Oral Roberts seeking $8 million by March (1987)? $1.3 million of the money Oral raised was given by a dog track owner - maybe Newt can find this generous soul, so that the philandering candidate infamous for recommending orphanages for the children of the poor can appear on the ballot.
