The Senate will proceed to debate on the motion to proceed to S. 2205, the DREAM Act.Following debate, the Senate will vote on cloture on the motion to proceed to the DREAM Act and if cloture is invoked, they may vote today on the act.

The IRS must prepare its tax forms for the next tax year soon and Senate Republicans want to fix the AMT before that happens. Inspite of Democrats' rhetoricpromising AMT relief, but their track record has been disappointing.
Yesterday the Senate passed the fiscal 2008 Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill after rejecting a motion by Republican Leader Mitch McConnell to send the bill back to committee and pare the funding until it matches the president’s funding request.
