In election 2008, Don’t forget the Angry White Man
by Gary Hubbell, Aspen Times Weekly: There is a great amount of interest in this year’s presidential elections, as everybody seems to recognize that our next president has to be a lot better than George Bush. The Democrats are riding high with two groundbreaking candidates — a woman and an African-American — while the conservative Republicans are in a quandary about their party’s nod to a quasi-liberal maverick, John McCain.
Each candidate is carefully pandering to a smorgasbord of special-interest groups, ranging from gay, lesbian and transgender people to children of illegal immigrants to working mothers to evangelical Christians.
There is one group no one has recognized, and it is the group that will decide the election: the Angry White Man. The Angry White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard. . . . [DONT MISS THIS ONE -- Read more]

Iam an angry white male. My wife is an angry white female. We are conservative. And we do not need to come to our senses (see prior post); we are there already. If the best the Republicans can do is say that their pill is less poisonous than the Democrat's pill, then the Republicans need to enjoy being the minority party.

As conservatives, we seem to get confused. We seem to believe a majority of the people are like us. --- They Are Not!. In fact conservatives are confused because there are three type of conservatives and very few of these people fall into all three categories. Are we so gullible, to keep responding to "red flags" waved in front of us. Are we a stupid bull that responds to the red flag (cloak over the sword) that leads to our death verses avoiding destruction.
Some of my fellow conservatives have said to me: "I just have to come to some conclusion as to whether its: better to stick to my convictions and principles and not vote in the presidential campaign OR hold my nose and vote for McCain in the hopes of minimizing (not eliminating) the damage that will be done.,"
No one is asking anyone to give up their convictions or principles. They are our own; I am keeping mine.
Consider, McCain has been pro-life. Are you pro-life? McCain has been for restricted growth of government -- Are you for this? He was for supporting National Security -- Are you for this? He supported conservative judges - are you for this? I agree, there are other issues and liberal aspects of McCain that we may not like..
The question -- do you vote for or against the Democrat (forget liberal) socialist choice that as a conservative you cannot agree with even 20% of the time? You may not like 100%, 95% or even 75% the GOP candidate choice. But do you like the socialist choice? As a conservative, Do you really believe the US will be better off under Obama or Clinton? If your answer to the last 2 questions is no, then you vote for McCain if he is the candidate. Not voting IS voting for the Democrat choice. Remember for it takes 2 votes to beat your vote. One to tie and one to beat it. When you don't vote, you give over that leverage to the opponents and now they can win with their own single vote.
I am wondering where all these conservatives with complaints have been? Most of them sure haven't been with those of us who have been fighting for conservative values.
Many of us have pleaded with Conservatives across the nation to stop talking and to join us and to get involved. Involved even if in a limited way. But for the most part they have not done so. I received a call from group of social conservative they other day. They are concerned BUT when I asked then what they were involved in related to their principles outside of church -- none of them were involved but they all meet weekly for coffee. I asked those who say they were pro-life, have you joined you local right to life group even if you only paid your dues - every one said they had not. When I asked if they ever considered coming to our monthly Republican men's luncheon where we address issues in the community -- none had been to visit and most are retired and have the time. If I asked if they have joined any grassroots groups working on social and economic issues -- none had done so. I identified that in our area and across the US we have Republic Assembly groups that speak for the conservative positions, would you consider participating -- well they don't know. Have you ever attended your local Republican county committee meetings or considered representing your precinct -- well no! No wonder the Conservatives are confused with the end results - while a large number of moderates have been at work, most have been like Ostridge with its head in the sand except for taking time to listen to talk radio or Fox News. Action speaks loader than words -- where have all these conservatives other conservatives been?
I am disappointed with the constant whining. Although I am sick at the fact that I would have like another candidate, I am not going to let my being sick become a terminal illness that kills me. I am going to get over it. I am concerned about international terrorism and the solution does not rest with voting for Obama or Hillary or abstaining from voting thereby giving them the vote.
I am an angry white female. I am not saying that I don't understand the "plight" of the "angry white male" but this weekend in Lansing I got to see the hypocrisy of "family values and morality" that is supposed to be a conservative view.
I understand if you do not post this.
Some more thoughts on this 'angry white guys's' forceful opinion....
Seems to me this hypocrite is doing the same thing he is whining about...complaining about the injustice he feels he is suffering...funny how he seems to be able to condemn everybody else...what is it called in his Bible?... mote beam or something?
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considers not the beam that is in thine own eye?" Matthew 7:3
If he is so sure all that liberal whining is off base then why the hell does he think his whining is any more tolerable?
Honestly, it seems like the only thing these tough and angry white idiots really have to complain about is the way of life they used to live is gone. They can no longer pat woman on their asses or say derogatory things about minorities in public.
I wish people like this would would figure it out. It is not rocket science. If someone tells you they are offended it doesn't matter if you don't understand why. The point is to just try to be nicer. Who knows, if guys like this were not so damn angry then all those women and minorities might stop their complaining...
Like I said, you don't have to be a genius to figure it out...in fact I think it is somewhere in that guys bible...something about the Golden Rule...
here it is..."Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them." Matthew 7.12
Just heard this on Rush Limbaugh, 2/19 11:22 Mountain. This is a classic piece. Thank you Gary Hubbell.
