“Super Tuesday” just SUPER for Republicans in Arkansas
Republican Party of Arkansas: “Super Tuesday” results show that Republicans in Arkansas are excited about helping send a Republican back to the White House and defeating either Barack Obama or Senator Clinton. Chairman Dennis Milligan was extremely optimistic about Super Tuesday’s results. “Tuesday’s results show that the Republican Party of Arkansas is a strong, resilient, growing party,” Milligan said. “We are working hard to recruit candidates, raise money, and grow our party at the grassroots level. Anytime that nearly 500 people vote in the Republican Primary in Chicot County, it shows that you are expanding your political base. It was a great decision to move our primary to “Super Tuesday,” and I believe last night’s results bode very well for our future success.”
Milligan also pointed out that either Barack Obama or Senator Clinton would have a difficult time carrying Arkansas in the general election. “Senator Clinton will do or say anything to get elected and Arkansans can see through that,” Milligan continued, “and Barack Obama’s experience and disavowed ties to liberal groups such as MoveOn.org do not provide the credentials to be Commander-in-Chief of our United States Armed Forces.”
According to KTHV “Your Vote 2008 Election Returns”, with 95% of the precincts reporting, 209,828 votes were cast in the Republican primary election. The Arkansas Secretary of State notes that 83% of the precincts are reporting and 142,911 votes have been cast. According to past election results, the 2008 Republican primary is the largest primary since 1992.
