Obama's Mile High Fantasy Flight
Dr. Bill Smith, ARRA Editor: My Opinion! Barack Obama's move to Mile High is an exercise in stagecraft and a smoke and mirror job for the American people.

- First, it is an affront to the Hillary Clinton delegates who would have comprised half the room if Obama were to appear at the Pepsi Center.
- It is a calculated move to force networks into the very real choice of only covering his speech on the final day - denying the American people a true look at what the Democrat's platform and policies are all about, and denying the American people a true look into the divided nature of the convention.
- If Obama's choice results in the networks only covering one day, would they then feel obligated to curtail coverage of the GOP convention? If so, Obama's calculated move then denies the American people a fair look at John McCain.
- This begs the question of the true nature of Obama's calculated decision. Is it because he wishes to keep voters in the dark over real issues and only provide them spectacle? Is it because he is afraid Hillary's supporters might not provide applause (or even boo) a speech in a room that wasn't guaranteed to be stacked with his zealous followers?

I think you nailed it on the head!
Is he afraid there are going to be random drug tests at the Pepsi Center? that some Hillary supporter is going to find a copy of his original birth certificate? ;-)
I think you're spot-on with this analysis, and I would go further in saying that it is -- aside from being cynical and manipulative -- outright foolish. He started out his campaign packing auditoriums to the rafters with his "message" of hope, change, and unity all wrapped in the ribbons of a "new kind of politics". He has since proved that he is nothing more than a conventional politician who has angered a significant number of his supporters with his flip-flops.
I think that having 70,000 people in a stadium is asking for trouble to begin with. Now that he's given some of his erstwhile acolytes a reason to make mischief, how does he keep them from doing it in a crowd of that size? He certainly won't be able to screen them out.
And, then there's the fact that I think a lot of average Americans will be creeped out by the spectacle. They've already concluded that he's just another pol. I suspect that most people will find the whole thing bewildering.
Bill,
You've nailed it. It not only gives Obama a Nuremburg-style spectacle (with all the TV coverage that will entail), its also almost guaranteed that people who get in will NOT be Hillary supporters.
And if there are any, anything they might try in the way of protest, booing, etc will be drowned out by his army of drones.
Why am I not surprised that Obama would pull this stunt. Now he can make sure only his delegates/supporters are at the event to swoon and faint for the broadcast media. Does he wants to leave delegates and supporters of the other campaigns out so he has all his 'adoring' fans/delegates for the TV cameras for his speech? Obama will have everything programmed down to not allowing Hillary delegates into the speech would be my guess.
Maybe the McCain campaign can pick up some more Democrats or Hillary supporters for McCain with this new stunt of Obama.
The arrogance of Obama that is already showing with this action should scare every voter at what he would be like as President. Would he do the State of the Union in front of his followers if elected? One has to wonder since he already has his own Presidential seal.
Believe Obama will do anything not to have Sen McCain get any broadcase media coverage of his speech. IMHO he shows absolutely no respect for Senator McCain and will do anything the week of the GOP Convention to take the spotlight off Sen McCain and Republicans.
Wouldn't it be an absolute hoot if no one showed up? :)
The reason the senator has done this probably is all four of the above stated reasons.
I would not put ANYTHING beyond BO, and the KING-MAKER, David Axelrod...
Whatever sneeky, dishonest, and totally crooked thing they can do, the DNC is ready to back up... To get their GOLDEN ONE selected...
It is all about control Bill.
They want it all and they don;t want any pesky outbreaks from Hill's folks.
I think that this is just a move to play more games with the American public. The Democrats are starting to learn that Americans want CONSERVATIVES, and Obama is about as strong of a liberal that you can find. So his plan is cover one night only, and then the media will have to only cover McCain for one night, and no one will know who has CONSERVATIVE ideas and who is a liberal.
I only hope that Mother Nature desides to rain on Obama's night at the stadium.
Absolutely, he really is primarily a showman.
Though if it rains, that could make the event interesting.
Wanting the nation to have an official language is just common sense. Here again, conservative Americans get called haters for what all of the Left's favorite countries already do--and enforce with sometimes fascist tactics (to with the Language Police in Quebec).
Wanting a national language, and the end for subsidies for people to remain ignorant of English and dip in the public purse at will, vote without being able to read a newspaper, etc., has NOTHING to do with being for or against learning other languages as part of a liberal arts education. Duh. Obama once again proves himself stupid as a doorknob, loved by the media.

It's more of his emulating the JFK mystique...see my earlier comment:
He's no JFK!
Expect to see all of the Kennedy legacy dragged out for the clucking
boobs in Denver...

What next out of Obama? Is he intentionally leaving the delegates of the other campaigns out of his acceptance speech? Is he afraid the Hillary supporters might boo?

How many elderly members of the DNC establishment will be huffing oxygen in the Mile High city? Exaustion, failing health, excitement...
Maybe they are having it there hoping that the thin air will also take the oomph out of the rioters’ sails.

(Obama loves America like Bill loves Hillary.)
Bread and Circus. The best smoke and mirrors in history.
Somebody in the DNC needs to grab him by the collar and “smarten him up.”

(If you shoot at mimes, should you use a silencer?)
Shades of Nurenberg
(Beware the secularization of America; the Islamization of Eurabia)
Obama's entire campaign is an exercise in smoke and mirrors, deception, and an engineered, idol-creation/idol-worship effect that masks his positions behind mindless euphoria amongst some, and callous indifference amongst others.
Behind it all is a militant anti-American and abject marxist who wants the riegns of power so he can indeed effect change on America.
Thanks for posting that on here. Looks to me like Obama wants to be a dictator.
It’s his practice or warm up for his power moves later on. He is seeinghow powerful his cult of personality is.
You're welcome. Please point others to the info at those links.
The more we educate and inform...the better.
agree with you 100% that he is seeing how far he can go with his cult of followers based on personality not substance.
