Sarah Palin's Arkansas Connection
Everybody seems to have some type of Arkansas Connection!
KATV-7: There is an Arkansas connection to Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin: Her former junior high school basketball coach lives in north central Arkansas. Sarah Heath is how Jerry and Carol Russell know her. . . . Jerry Russell was Sarah Palin's 7th-grade basketball coach, and 8th-grade U.S. History teacher.
While Palin never expressed an interest in politics back then, Russell says was always active. One of his fondest memories is the final seconds of a rival game. It was up to Palin to make the last shot. (Russell) “She almost made it, but she missed it. The buzzer blew, they all came around her and she put her hands up over her face and started crying. I put my arm around her and said, ‘Sarah, don't cry. It's just a game..’ ‘Yeah, but we lost.’ She just couldn't stand to get beat. I'd love to see her get into the White House. There’s no doubt in my mind, if she had to sit down in the president’s chair today, she could handle it."

Do you know if Sara Palin is going to come to Arkansas during the campaign. A perfect time for her to come would be from October 13 to October 18 at Camp Robinson in Little Rock. During that time the National Guard Winston P. Wilson Marksmanship Competitions take place. The National Guard's top shooters from every state send teams from all 50 states. It would be great to see her support the troops and see her team from Alaska compete.
Winged Torch,
I have not heard of any planned visits to Arkansas. She just visited Florida and had 60,000 people show up - http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/2008/09/sarah-palin-brings-out-60000-at-florida.html
Palin would have enjoyed the shooting event. Can youinvite and get her husband, Todd Palin to the event?
I heard on Mountain TAlk 97 that she is coming to AR some time in November and the tickets are free. I wish I could hear that commercial again.
Mtn Talk Radio provided the following info: Sarah palin will be speaking at College of the Ozarks in Hollister, MO on December 2 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are no longer available. More info here: http://www.cofo.edu/PR101909.asp
