Legitimacy - America Threatened by Obama Acorn Relationship

Acorn doesn't fall far from ObamaAmerica is about to be ruled by an illegitimate government founded on fraud and outright criminality. Bill Wilson, Americans for Limited Government: All governments rise or fall on the degree to which the people find them legitimate. When the people no longer believe a government has gained power by legitimate means or that a government operates in an honest and legitimate manner, only force and intimidation maintains it. And as history has shown repeatedly, no amount of force or state-terror against the populous is ever enough to prevail. True, brute thuggish tactics can hold off the will of the people for a long time. It worked for over 70 years in Russia, but only 12 in Nazi Germany. It has been effective in Cuba for nearly 50 years, but fell quickly in Cambodia.

One of the true strengths of the United States has been the accepted process for the peaceful transfer of power from one group of people to another. This process, elections held at regular intervals, has conferred that most precious of all commodities on the United States Government: legitimacy. But in 2008, in a desperate drive for power, that most valuable of gifts from our Founding Fathers is being abused and discarded. Simply put, it is becoming more and more evident every day that the elections this year may not be legitimate, that the “winners” will not be able to claim they assumed office in a fair and open manner. In short, we could be about to be ruled by an illegitimate government founded on fraud and outright criminality.

All across America reports are coming in of obvious voter fraud. While election offices have been flooded with new registrants, even a cursory review is finding rampant fraud. The abuse was so blatant in Nevada that police secured a search warrant and raided one of the offices of the registration organization. They had arrogantly used the roster of the Dallas Cowboys football team on multiple registration forms. If all of these incidents were isolated, then you could just chalk it up to an over enthused electorate. But they are not isolated; they are coordinated and planned. And all of the abuse and outright criminal behavior leads back to one place, an organization named ACORN.

ACORN is a radical leftwing group formed out of the Welfare Rights organization. Its founder, Wade Rathke, was a member of the SDS, the violent, anti-American organization. Over the years, this fringe group has grown in power and stature through tens of millions of dollars in tax money funneled to them from crony politicians and from a network of socialist private foundations. The level of fraud is so great that some brave U.S. Attorneys are looking at taking action. But the odds are it is too late, that their efforts will be squashed and the election will be outright stolen. There is zero precedent in America for overturning an election once it has been certified. So, the fraudulent election is likely to take place, the results certified and the so-called “winner” will assume office.

And since it is Barrack Obama who is joined at the hip with ACORN, one must assume it is for his election that ACORN is breaking every law it can. That should not be much of a surprise since the Obama campaign paid ACORN $800,000 for “advance” work, even going so far as to try to hide who was actually getting the money. Justice may yet prevail. The U.S. Justice system may block this assault. It is not pre-ordained that Barrack Obama will be sworn in to office on January 20. A lot is going to happen between now and the election.

But the question should be asked: If Obama does win based on a plan of massive voter fraud, intimidation, and outright criminal activity, how will he govern? How can anyone who has attained the office through tactics more akin to tin-horn dictators ever have the legitimacy to govern? The answer is self-evident, he will have no legitimacy. Every act he and his dutiful lackeys in Congress take will have no legitimate base with the American people. As someone who will have only attained power through the crude, thuggish actions of ACORN and their allies, nothing he says will carry the authority or respect all law depends on to function.

As observed before, when power lacks moral authority and the true consent of the governed, it has only one way to assert its will – force, the threat of violence, and outright physical control. And, especially given the temperament of the American people, such action would lead to only one reaction, resistance. That is what is at stake. The seeds are being sown now of what could be the darkest chapter in our nation’s history. An illegitimate government using force to compel a restive citizenry to “share” their income in ever increasing amounts for dubious social welfare scams and radical One World foreign policies will not end well.

One person has the ability to prevent this. Barrack Obama himself is the only person who can short-circuit the dangerous cycle we have entered. If he immediately called on state election officials to purge voter lists in a manner designed to remove the fraudulent registrants, if he joined with people of good faith of all political persuasions to establish a monitoring system, if he openly discussed his relationship with ACORN and cooperated with law enforcement authorities, he would ensure the legitimacy of the elections. And, he would accomplish what he says he wants, true reconciliation in America.

Whether Obama would win in a fair contest is hard to say. He has many assets and skills. If he fails to acts now, he could win the White House and lose all. He would forever be seen as the interloper, the illegitimate beneficiary of the largest fraud ever committed. But if he does “man-up” at this crucial moment, he will gain the respect of friend and foe alike. He will have earned for himself the legitimacy no stolen election can ever confer. I was watching moments ago - Greta on FOX news discussing this controversy - her response to the man she was interviewing about what a fiasco this is was....'big story, this is insane! November 4th is quickly approaching" I have to agree, as I live in Cuyahoga county - the next 'Florida'. I honestly will be amazed if the election results are complete and legitimized the same week we vote. Unless it is a landslide. But that depends on which states push us into that territory - since 12 swing states are part of the ACORN issue. If any of those states, especially OH or PA are won by a large margin, tens of thousands of fraudulent registrations will be suspect. Nevermind the ACORN association/control over bad housing loans. I want to know, who exactly is 'disenfanchised' when real voters (people who are alive, legally registered voters) lose to imaginary people, deceased people, cats, dogs, the Dallas Cowboys offensive line signed up in NV...or a guy who was pressured to sign up 73 times?

I think most of this ACORN issue is an attempt to provide a rationalization for conservatives to legally or illegally suppress real and legitimate American voters.

ACORN is under very close watch, after all, so not much is going to slip by unnoticed. But that doesn't keep conservatives from continuing to stir up the false specter of voter fraud.

btw, is the Dallas Cowboys offensive line being prosecuted for fraud in NV? They clearly broke the law.

If Obama wins big in OH or PA, it's because he's the better candidate.

Are the Dems attempting to steal this election...uh YES! And despite the notion that Obama is smoking McCain (which I don't believe), they are leaving no stone unturned. I can only hope that the Republican operatives are being as conniving behind the scenes, as the Dems.

ACORN may actually be a good thing, in that it may shine the light on the Dems tactics. I don't think a scandal would resonate outside of Republican circles, however, since the Dems believe Bush stole the last two elections.

Hopefully the new reports from Iraq, and the recovering economy will turn things around for McCain. And perhaps people will again start paying attention the idea that they have put the least qualified person within a rock's throw of the White House. AND he is a socialist, terrorist-loving Black racist!

This is nothing more than the Republicans laying the groundwork to invalidate ballots and disenfranchise voters on a grand scale.

I personally know people who work for ACORN and I know them to be people of high integrity and know that this is just an attempt by the Republicans to tar and feather a group that does GOOD works for the working poor and which is highly effective at registering them to vote LEGITIMATELY through a highly efficient door to door canvassing program.

This puts the fear of God into Republicans because they have heretofore counted on liberals to not be very effective at running a ground game canvassing door to door. The Republicans know that if Democrats actually voted at the same turnout % as they did, then they simply would no longer compete.

Welcome to your future GOP. You are going to be swept out of power in a big and LEGITIMATE way this year so don't bother crying to us about your loss - it's your own fault for treating the poor and middle class like second class citizens the last 28 years.

These distinctions are important, yet few media outlets discuss them. Predictably, however, partisan forces have tried to use these isolated incidents to incite fear of the “bogeyman” of “widespread voter fraud.” But we want to take this opportunity to set the record straight and tell you a few facts to show how these incidents really exemplify everything that ACORN is doing right:

Fact: ACORN has implemented the most sophisticated quality-control system in the voter engagement field but in almost every state we are required to turn in ALL completed applications, even the ones we know to be problematic.

Fact: ACORN flags in writing incomplete, problem, or suspicious cards when we turn them in,.
Unfortunately, some of these same officials then come back weeks or months later and accuse us of
deliberately turning in phony cards. In many cases, we can actually prove that these are the same cards we called to their attention.

Fact: Our canvassers are paid by the hour, not by the card . ACORN has a zero-tolerance policy for
deliberately falsifying registrations, and in the cases where our internal quality controls have identified this happening we have fired the workers involved and turned them in to election officials and law-enforcement.

Fact: No criminal charges related to voter registration have ever been brought against ACORN or partner organizations. Convictions against individual former ACORN workers have been accomplished with our full cooperation, using the evidence obtained through our quality control and verification processes — evidence which in most cases WE called to the attention of authorities

Fact: There has never been a single proven case of anyone, anywhere, casting an illegal vote as a result of a phony voter registration. Even if someone wanted to influence the election this way, it would not work. Think of the risk someone would have to be motivated to take. They would be a sitting duck to be nabbed and prosecuted.

Fact: Most election officials have recognized ACORN’s good work and praised our quality control systems. Even in the cities where election officials have complained about ACORN, the applications in question represent less than 1% of the thousands and thousands of registrations ACORN has collected.

Fact: Our accusers not only fail to provide any evidence, they fail to suggest a motive: there is virtually no chance anyone would be able to vote fraudulently, so there is no reason to deliberately submit phony registrations. ACORN is committed to ensuring that the greatest possible numbers of people are registered and allowed to vote, so there is also NO incentive to “disrupt the system” with phony cards.

Fact: Similar accusations were made, and attacks launched, against ACORN and other voter registration
organizations in 2004 and 2006. These attacks were not only groundless, they have since been exposed as part of the U.S. Attorneygate scandal and revealed to be part of a systematic partisan agenda of voter suppression.

Unfortunately, at this time of year, partisan forces and politicians seeking to portray themselves as “fraud-busters” can’t resist the temptation to try again. As David Iglesias (former Republican US Attorney in New Mexico who was forced from office) has said, he refused Karl Rove’s and Alberto Gonzales pressure to charge ACORN with voter fraud, because he knew ACORN was innocent of that charge. And another US Attorney, Bradley Schlozman, who did politicize prosecutions against former ACORN canvassers, was forced to acknowledge under cross examination by the Senate Judiciary Committee that ACORN was the victim of fraud by its employees and ACORN had caught the employees and had identified them to law enforcement.

These are the facts, and the truth is that a relatively small group of political operatives are trying to orchestrate hysteria about “voter fraud” and manufacture public outrage that they can use to justify fraudulently challenging voters at the polls and other schemes to suppress the votes of millions of low-income and minority Americans.

These tactics are nothing new, and history has shown that they will come to nothing. We’ll continue to weather the storm, as we’ve done for years, and we’ll continue to share the truth about our work and express pride about our accomplishments.

Most importantly, we want to assure you that this good work continues, unabated and undeterred. ACORN will not be intimidated, we will not be provoked, and in this important moment in history we will not allow anyone to distract us from these vital efforts to empower our constituencies and our communities to speak for themselves. If the partisan political machines are afraid of low-income and minority voters, they’re going to have to do a lot better than coming after ACORN.

Our work is far from over: now begins our effort to mobilize these new voters around local and national issues, getting them to the polls and helping to channel their commitment and conviction into an ongoing movement for change in our communities.

After all, there are now at least 1.3 million more registered voters in this country, and they will not be silenced.

They’re taking an interest, and taking a stand, and they’ll be taking their concerns to the voting booth in November.

And ACORN will be here, to make sure that the voices of these Americans are heard, on Election Day and for every day to come.

Re: The Truth About ACORN’s Voter Registration Drive

Election Day is less than a month away, and our efforts to make sure that low-income and minority voters have a voice and vote on November 4th are in full swing. Unfortunately, just as we’ve seen in previous election cycles, the more success we have in empowering these voters, the more attacks we have to fend off from partisan forces making unfounded accusations to disparage our work and help maintain the status quo of an unbalanced electorate.

After a similar spate of charges against ACORN in 2006, we learned that then-Attorney General Alberto
Gonzales had fired Republican US Attorneys because they refused to prosecute ACORN for trumped up fraud charges. This was the heart of the US Atttorneygate scandal that led Karl Rove, Gonzales and other top Department of Justice officials to resign.

On Monday, October 6, as voter registration deadlines passed in most states, ACORN completed the largest, most successful nonpartisan voter registration drive in history. In partnership with the nonpartisan organization Project Vote, we helped register over 1.3 million low-income, minority, and young voters in a total of 21 states. Highlights of this success include:

We are proud of this unprecedented success, and grateful to everyone who supported us in this massive effort, from our funders and partners to the literally thousands of hardworking individuals across the country who dedicated themselves to the cause and conducted the difficult work of registering 1.3 million Americans, one voter at a time.

In the course of this work, we hired more than 12,000 registration workers to help people register.

As with any business or agency that operates at this scale, there are always some people who want to get paid without really doing the job, or who aim to defraud their employer. Any large department store will have some workers who shoplift. Any large voter registration operation will have some workers who turn in bogus registration forms – not because the “Mickey Mouse” whose name they put on a registration form will ever attempt to vote on Election Day, but because they want to get paid without earning it. Only a small fraction of the workers we hire try to defraud ACORN in this way, but we obviously have a big stake in making sure people know we will turn them in and encourage prosecution when we catch them.

When a department store calls the police to report a shoplifting employee, no one says the department store is guilty of consumer fraud. But for some reason, when ACORN turns voter registration workers over to the authorities for filling out bogus forms, it gets accused of “voter fraud.” This is a classic case of blaming the victim; indeed, the act is outrageous, libelous, and often politically motivated.

As The Nation pointed out recently, ACORN’s success in registering millions of low-income and minority
voters has made it “something of a right-wing bogeyman.” Though ACORN believes that the right to vote is not, and should never be, a partisan issue, attacks from groups threatened by our historic success continue to come, motivated by partisan politics and often perpetuated by the media without full investigation of the facts.

These stories typically lump together “ incomplete” voter registration cards (applications missing key
information) with “erroneous” or “fraudulent” voter registration applications.

America's threatened by more than just that. Discounting the Ayers friendship, or the Reverend Wright friendship, it's his association with the Democratic party, which is beholden to liberals, who are socialists, which is basically indistinguishable from communists.

Also remember: you're known by the company you keep.

To be honest, if we don't beat them now, the death-stroke may very well follow quickly. Do you think, after decades of dumbing down the public (starting with our children), degrading the quality of our school system, buying politicians, coddling America's enemies, driving business out of America, gaining control of the media, betraying the public trust and the Constitution of the United States of America, they're finally going to sit back contented and say "Ah, that was enough, I'm stuffed. Do what you will"?

Hardly - I'd expect this to be the game, set, and match if the One 'wins' (hey, millions of felons, dead people, foreigners, repeat voters (not-yet-felons), etc, can't be wrong). Remember, if he becomes President - the history books are written by the victor.
