Crowded Field for Arkansas GOP Chair
ARRA Editors comment: Lord knows, the Arkansas Republican Party needs a new leader. One that is well spoken, motivated, even handed, center minded, new media savy (willing to work with conservative state blogers), and who can stand center stage offering solutions and confronting a Democrat controlled Little Rock. Hum - the same type that the GOP needs as its new RNC Chairman.
by Jason Tolbert (The Tolbert Report): Former state representative Jake Files confirmed today to “The Tolbert Report” that he is considering running for the chairman position of the Republican Party of Arkansas, joining a crowded field which includes Joseph Wood, Doyle Webb, and possibly Bryan King. Files states that he expects to reach a decision by this weekend. Files currently serves as chairman of the Sebastian County Republican Party and works as a real estate developer with Foster, Files, & Harris LLC. Previously, Files represented the Fort Smith area in the state house of representative from 1999 to 2002. Files made national headlines recently with his outspoken criticism of Gov. Huckabee during his Presidential Campaign, particularly the Governor’s tense relationship with the state legislature. Files has achieved success as chairman in Sebastian County included the election of Republicans Terry Rice and Stephanie Malone and the near upset by John Van Gorder over incumbent Steve Breedlove.
