Obama Plans to Overturn Executive Orders

Updated 11/14 - President Obama To Use Executive Orders To Bypass Congress And American People: Planned Parenthood head Cecile Richards says Obama is expected to rescind protections on taxpayer-funded abortions and abortion counseling immediately after he takes office. According to Richards, “We have been communicating with his transition staff….We expect to see a real change.” Opposes English-Only As Official Language - Obama is also likely to seek to strengthen a Bill Clinton Executive Order (EO 13166) that discourages English-only policies in federal programs. While campaigning, Obama told an audience: “Understand this: Instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English …. You need to make sure your child can speak Spanish.” . . .

According to NewsMax and other news sources, President-elect Barack Obama may reverse close to 200 administration actions and executive orders implemented during the Bush administration. According to The Washington Post, White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues could be undone soon after Obama takes office. Obama is expected immediately reverse:
• A limit on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.
• A rule barring international family-planning groups that receive U.S. aid from counseling women about the availability of abortion.
