Barbara Boxer meet Dr. Evil
Senator Barbara Boxer (D- CA) seems to believe she has "earned" the title of Senator. Well "Babs" being called Senator does not mean you earned it. It means you were elected to represent California by its citizens. You earned nothing. You are supposed to be a servant of the people not a pompous ass. But as a liberal, your main accomplishment has been to tax and spend other people money and to send the United States into the ionosphere with debt.
The general followed proper protocol by addressing you respectful as Ma'am just as he address the male senators as Sir. However, it is the General who has earned the right and deserved your respect. It is interesting that President Obama goes around referring to Senators by their first names. Maybe you should advise Obama that you were elected more times than him and therefore should be called Senator.
Has Boxer has apologized? More on this after the video with her antics: "Senator Barbara Boxer seems to have a problem with the military. And she wants respect. Barbara Boxer meet Dr. Evil."
Consider Boxer's apology as reported by the Canadian Free Press reports: "Gawd, I really looked like a b**ch!” exclaimed Mrs. Barbara Boxer, a California politician . . . as she watched a replay of her disrespectful interruption of Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh, of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers . . ."
Now examine closely the alleged Boxer's apology. The Canadian Free Press continues with Boxer saying: "I am so sorry for my indefensible behavior," Missus Boxer stated, "I realize now that the term 'Madam' was not meant to be disrespectful to me as a revered member of the elite Washington Political Class. Rather, I understand now that it is a term of respect used by members of the lower and servant classes, such as military people, waiters, laborers, normal people with manners, and anyone else who does not occupy a seat in a privileged political club, such as I do. I was wrong to be so rude and I understand that the General was just trying to be nice to me, Mrs. Stewart Boxer. I was wrong to scold the great General and I hope he can see fit to forgive me."
Funny! The Canadian Free Press is "pulling out leg." Boxer apologize forget it! However, their satire does portray in Shakespearean fashion how Boxer would react seeing herself in a special class and the rest of us as her peons. To her, Generals would be equal with waiters. And as citizens, they are! But that is not what she would mean. Both waiters and Generals are more important than Senator Babs; you work for a living and contribute to society.
Californians need "Change!" - a replacement to Boxer. One possibility is California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R-Irvine). He represents an area that includes almost 500,000 people in Orange County. Chuck was elected in 2004 and reelected in 2006 and in 2008. Chuck served as a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon from 1986 to 1988. As Special Assistant for Foreign Affairs his duties included working with Congress to advance the President’s foreign and military policy. Chuck’s official travels took him to Asia, Europe, Africa, and Central America. His initiative helped develop the Arrow Anti-Ballistic Missile program. In 1983, Chuck enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. In 1985 he was commissioned as an officer. After more than 24 years, Lt Colonel Devore retired from the Army National Guard. Candidate Chuck Devore's website.

Barbara Boxer is my nemesis
Vote on whether or not you think that Senator Boxer was rude to the General at:
http://www.eyeonthelaw.blogspot.com/
Wasn't Brutus a Senator!? Watch out Caesar Obama!
Let's impeach California all together, would save a lot of time and trouble!
Since we're getting ready to "bail" them out anyway, they have given up their right to be heard for 2 years.
Then they can start all over, maybe that time they will elect some people who actually have some common sense.
Hear she is dating Janet Reno....congressional medal of ugly !
Agreed! Impeach CA, Massachusettes, CT, NY, IL and several others!
No, Janet Reno belongs to Hillary
It is sad that we have people like Boxer in the Senate.
Barbara Boxer, that General, HE earned the right to be respected. HE earned those medals on his chest. HE worked hard to be a General, serving his country. YOU haven't earned anything, you were elected by a state which is not representative of our country as a whole. YOU serve wacko lunatic libs who only think they are entitled. No Babs, you can take your title and shove it up Barbara Streisand!
Not all of us Californians like Barbara Boxer
Senator. Give me a break, that is how the military teaches its members to answer and respect others. Excuse me Senator, but I know for a fact that the General has worked very hard for his title. She should learn ... Read Morethat you only have to respect the position not the person and respect is earned not just given. These two poor excuses of women should just go away! I am tired of the negative rhetoric that these two utter from their pie holes on a non stop basis. That means you too Nancy (I don't care about the taxpayers) Pelosi. Be rid of these two so we can accomplish something positive.
Anyone so worried about their title is not worthy of it. Boxer is an embarrassment to women, Californians, civilians, and military officers. Thank God she doesn't represent ME.
Barbara Boxer and Nanci Pelosi are the epitome of what is wrong in Washington
Tea with Nanc & Babs:
Babs: Nancy, you've been through this recently. Do you think anybody noticed?
Nancy: OMgodess, Babs, I hope not. We could never survive in the private sector.
"Snobbery is the pride of those who are not sure of their position." ~ Berton Braley
People you all sound like it was a five minute dress down,it was two sentences, and the man involed has said nothing about it.And really it's a woman thing any ways men don't mind sir but most women don't like being called ma'am b/c they think it means they'er old and don't like it.And of course we have equal rights to thank for that.
A Private has earned his rank. A police officer has earned his badge. A rifleman has earned his skill and qualification. A truck driver has earned his CDL. Ma'am has not earned the respect that title infers, let alone her title as Senator.
She did not even earn empoyee of the month at subway.
I agree with Bob Limberg. The military has been taught since bootcamp to start with ma'am and end with ma'am. Same goes for sir and end with sir. They entered into service to serve this country and protect our freedom. This bitch hasn't earned a damn thing. She was somehow voted into office. Best I can figure is slinging a lot of bullshit. At that point, he should have got up and left because he souldn't have to put up with that shit. Enough Said!!!!
Another politician that has failed to realize they are a servant, not royalty. I've about had my fill of nitwit pompous politicians.
So Boxer thinks she "worked so hard" for her title of Senator. Give me a break. She doesn't know the first thing about working hard. If anyone was disrespectful it was her.
Boxer just another whiney liberal
You have to remember that Barbara is just a Princess, the term Queen belongs to Nancy alone...neither have respect for the military and their long tradition of addressing Men as "Sir" and Women as Ma'am" She didn't do her homework, and showed her ignorance. The shame is all on her. This General showed great restraint. I don't think I'd be as kind.
Exactally how hard do you think it take a person to rise to the rank of BG - Barb? I think HE Earned it, you were just VOTED the tirtle.
Is she out of her mind? Yet another classic sign of disrespect toward the military. From boot recruits to Generals, all military personnell are required to call women of higher rank and position "Ma'am". She needs to get over herself.
I think the General worked a hell of a lot harder to get where he is...and he didn't insist on being called by General!!!
Regarding congressional etiquette: Sir, Ma'am, or Senator is correct when addressing a U.S. Senator.
I understand that perhaps Senator Boxer did not understand that the title Ma'am was appropriate (and allowed) since she has not been in the military but her staff or someone in Congress should have briefed her when she first entered Congress on the proper titles that people can address her with.
What an ass. Does anyone believe that General has any respect for Boxer? Ma'am was a complement I'm sure. I'd need a spittoon to speak to her.
On the Todd Schnitt show today, he was reading emails that people have been sending Boxer (and copying him with). Every single letter he read began with "Dear Ma'am." It was too funny!
Barbara Boxer is a liar and has no respect. She never earned anything at all, she made it to where she is by kissing up to ultra liberals. As far as I'm concerned calling her ma'am was even an overstatement.
Can you believe that? He is a man who fought for her freedom!! Maybe she should show some respect instead of thinking she is above him!! Her "title" give me a break!!~
well, just another example of the much better high class politician useing her position to be rude to someone else. they all need attitude adjustments.
I didn't hear her refer to him as "General", and I think he earned that title. He showed restraint and decorum by holding his tounge and not telling her so. I guess he doesn't have the self image issue she does.
It just shows her disdain for the military. She's worked so hard. Yeah being so liberal and getting voted in by the crazies in California is very hard work. Maybe if she had a job she'd know what hard work was. We should let her state go bankrupt and in one swoop get rid of her, Pelosi, and Waters.
A friend sent this message this morning:
Quoting a friend:
Dear Mrs. Boxer: If the General had been addressing a male senator, he would have referred to him as "Sir." In these times of economic disaster, nuclear threats, and multiple-front wars, your "title" and how you are addressed is of little consequence. Especially since it is we the people ... Read Morewho bestow that title upon you for the purpose of representing OUR best interests, not your EGO. I guarantee you that the risks taken by General Walsh while obtaining his "title" far outweigh any risks you have ever taken or may ever face. You truly owe the General an apology. You cut him off in mid-sentence to appease your ego. That is an unconscionable act for a public SERVANT to commit."
so, she is not a ma'am? I'm confused . . . .
only boxer would get in bent out of shape over being addressed with a term that is one of respect and courtesy. Once again the "Seanator from California" finds a way to show her total lack of respect for the men and women of our Armed Forces. Way to go Boxer
I hope he asked to be called Brigadier General in return, because God knows he worked hard for that title as well. Geez Louise, Babs, don't get your Boxers in a bunch. He was being respectful of you....something of which you must learn how to be.
She should never be called Mam, that is reserved for people the military respect. Clearly that would not be this B_ _ _ _
She worked hard for the title she tells a military officer...
that's how stupid these people are. What do you think he
had to go through and still have the decency to call the
swine MAM. This woman needs to be slapped. Get me... Read More
close enough, I 'd love the opportunity
When meeting the president, you call him "Mr. President" but when in the same conversation, you can call him "Sir". Boxer needs to get panties unwadded!
Damn Californians Don't know a southern gentleman when they see one.
I'll address her as Comrade, because I know she's worked very hard, at destroying this country, for that title.
http://boxer.senate.gov/contact/email/policy.cfm
When do we do something about these foolish, treasonous men and women who are systematically following their playbook to destroy America. They break their own laws, shoving every kind of "ism" down the throats of plain old everyday Americans and treat our military like scum beneath their shoes and high heels. I pose "2" questions.
"Will we ... Read Morestill be standing as the America fought for, died for, by all of those before us, will it all be gone by 2010?"
" Will we have any of our freedoms and rights to, choose, about our lives, to succeed, to fail in a bussiness venture and then choose to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps and keep going as the America of our grandparents and ancestors."
That's it, the Democrats call themselves the party of equity, but they want their titles! SENATOR!
He was showing her respect by calling her ma'am. That is the way we were all taught in the military. She looked like a total jerk by calling him out like that.
Since her and most Democrats don't understand or care about the military she couldn't possibly understand he was being a gentleman. I don't know why because she looks like Phil Spector and way too far left for my taste.
Ma'am, you are classless. You cannot hold a finger to Gen. Walsh. When did you last put your life on the line for your country? You are more concerned with protecting the rights of the Gitmo boys. Nice going, Ma'am
Reid (war is a loss), MoveOn.org (General Betray us), Pelosi (CIA are liars!) and now this hack Boxer (call me Senator, General)...we must clean house of these radicals in 2010.
I hope she is forced, by public outcry to apologize to the General and the American People. My husband is a retired Marine. Not only does he use the terms Maam and Sir, ( he has been retired since 1976) I do also and our two sons were raised to do the same. Also if you are raised in most states in the South, you are taught to call adults Maam and Sir. It's not only a Military thing it's a southern thang as well. Barbara Boxer is a rude democrat.
Boxer is just about as worthless as Pelosi. Where does she [Boxer] get off correcting a General on how to address a senior ranking official. "Ma'am" is perfectly appropriate to any female regardless of office.
First, the General said that out of respect. 2nd, yes, Senator Boxer worked hard to get voted in, with the help of a bunch of people. TheGeneral worked twice as hard on his own and took years of schools and assignments to get promoted to General. The insult was from her. Just shows what little credability she has
If I was that BG I would have said.."you're not my senator..I didn't vote for you..& I never would..you're a total ass for that matter so there butch.
I found it cathartic to email ms boxer and tell her what i think. a total joke- she has earned "senator" I agree with Symmi above....not my senator, i would move if she was
Wow, what a snob!
