Thousands Protest Obama Policies In Nashville
NewsChannel 5, Nashville: [Extracted] Yesterday, four thousand local protestors took over Legislative Plaza in Tennessee's Capital to protest a President Obama's new energy initiative by President Obama. The "tea party" protest also took aim at universal health care. . . . Protesters heard speeches from conservative talk radio hosts and a handful of Republican state lawmakers. Several waved "Don't Tread on Me" flags and homemade signs that included slogans like "Overthrow Congress" and "Revolt Against Socialism."
Protestors in Nashville believe it could cause energy bills to skyrocket. "It may triple or quadruple the cost of energy that you are going to be paying with your electric bill, your heating bill, the best case scenario is its just going to double," said talk radio host Steve Gill. Many of those in attendance also voiced their opinions against universal health care. Pamela Cain is one of them. Cain said she and her veteran husband have had a taste of government coverage. "We have had some bad experiences, so I wouldn't want to see anyone else go down that route," said Cain.
There was an overwhelming sense among protestors that government is getting too big and too intrusive. The conservative movement called for Obama to back down on spending, and get out of their lives.

Going to share this one, Bill. Good to see Nashvillians turn out to protest the IDIOCY of this Administration & Washington!
There are still some places in the country where they are willing to do what it takes....bless them.
I need to do more than I have been...a lot more.
Thanks for the info Bill. Re-posted also.
Is the kool aid finally wearing off?
I reposted, too.
Reposting....
wow. this gives me goose bumps. people are starting to care again.
Thanks for posting this!
I wish all of the tea parties would come together and gather outside of the white house......
Tanya, there is a huge rally (tea party?) scheduled for September 12 in DC. I know there is something scheduled for 9/12 in DC. I'll try to find the info and send it to you.
The people are waking up.. shaking up.... and going to be changing up! We are speaking out and will keep it up! :-)
WOW. In Nashville even...which is traditionally way more liberal than where I live in east TN. I am impressed! Good job Nashvillians!
I am so bummed. The one in St. Paul is going to be a "celebration" and we can't convince them otherwise. They are concerned about the media. For crying out loud, I could care less about the media. I don't think the Patriots were thinking about "celebrating" as they were throwing the tea overboard. Celebrations come after you have won the war. The Founding Fathers put their lives on the line for freedom and they are worried about the sniveling, groveling media! What a lack of moral courage!
We need more of these protests and maybe the media will finally report on them.
Wow I haven heard about it either..what is going on?
Cain made a good point for those who support Govt run healthcare- just look at the track record on how they handle our vets.
Thanks -- I am reposting it as well.!!
Don't forget there WILL be a tremendous Party this 4th of July In Dc . People from all over the USA will attend. BE THERE and be seen and heard. 4TH OF JULY IN DC !!
Our local newspaper (which has been lying to us all along) said under 100. Does that sea of people look like only 100 to you? It doesn't look like that few to me either.
Thanks all! Especially for re-posting. Note to Barbara Rogers. Yes, your newspaper was lying to - must be owned by some libtards. Click on the link in the post on my site, and listen to the TV stations report the true numbers. For everyone: Llot of great Tea Parties in the coming week. Enjoy your freedoms to express your dissatisfaction.
It's about time we as Christians Stand up and speak out!
Getting too big for CNN to hide.
Let's Roll! The Houston Tea Party is Friday July 3rd 5pm - 8pm. I have my sign ready to go. T-Shirt from Cafe Press will arrive Thurs by UPS. I am fired up and ready to go!
There should be protests all over. I've emailed both our senators.
i don't agree with the protest but free speech is always a good thing! carry on americans.
I heard he wants everyone to paint the tops of their cars white...the most rediculous thing i've ever heard by the way. its unbelievable how so much money is being funded to a problem that doesnt exist. how can i get these news posts too? do i have to sign up for something?
Next sign of the apocalypse:
Which Al Franken will show up in Washington?
It's about time someone lets him know that he's not God and don't like what he is doing or trying to do.
Hows that change working for the Hussein Obama supporters now??
Hope! Change!
More Like "Hype and Chumps"
Where have all these protesters been for the past 8 yrs. when Bush was in office?
They were working...knowing that the day was coming when we were going to have to pay the bill for all the Obama supporters..
The spending was bad when Bush was in office.......but not this bad. We were talkin billions, not trillions. Not that billions isn't a whole lot o money.
Bush looks like a tightwad next to the Messiah.
And while were spending these billions and trillions, we must keep in mind that there is not one red cent in the bank. All this money is just being printed like so much monopoly money. Wait a minute.......maybe monoply money is worth more that real US dollars. It's certainly more rare.
