Lincoln Votes With Washington Liberals for $245 Billion Unfunded Deficit Spending
Update: Roll Call of votes. Both Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln voted with the Washington Liberals. Remember the old saying "fool me once ... fool me twice...." Arkansas voters allowed Pryor to fool us with his smooth rhetoric and dressing up on occasion to appear to represent Arkansas conservative values. But after being re-elected instead of standing for his constituents, he continues to vote with Reid and other liberals. A quick fix on this issue is not the major issue. The issue is the poor performance of the present government funded health care system for seniors and the willingness to strap us with another $250 BILLION in unfunded deficit for our future generations to pay while hiding the true cost of the providing nationalized health care for everyone. However, we do not have to make the same mistake with Sen Lincoln. We can replace Lincoln. Don't feel sorry for her, Blanche has bankrolled a large Congressional retirement and she has the option to continue living in Virginia working for Obama or as a lobbyist or she could come home to be regrounded in Arkansas values.

Thirteen democrats joined all the republicans to stop advancing this unfunded doc fix forward. By anyone’s standard, today was the first vote on health care reform. Harry Reid, the current pilot of Obama’s reform bill, badly miscalculated the mood of his conference when he cut a backroom deal to jam $250 billion down taxpayer’s throats. In the end, 13 Democrats sided with every Republican to turn back the first attempt to saddle American taxpayers with unsustainable debt through a massive effort to rewrite 1/6th of the U.S. economy behind closed doors."
Senator Blanche Lincoln voted with the liberal Democrats for $245 Billion Unfunded Deficit Spending. Fortunately, a bipartisan majority rejected the efforts of Senator Harry Reid and Blanche Lincoln to add another quarter trillion dollars to the national credit card without any plan to pay for it! A "Doc Fix" may well be needed because of government generated problems with Medicare. But not as another end run to hide the true cost of government run health care being proposed by Reid and the Obama Administration.

Republican Party of Arkansas Chairman Doyle Webb issued the following statement today after Sen. Lincoln voted to increase the national deficit by $245 billion:
"It concerns all Arkansans that Sen. Lincoln continues to join the liberals in Washington rather than siding with the people back home. While she told everyone she would only support a deficit neutral proposal, she gave in to her Parties leaders and other special interests. The result was her voting for a bill that would have increased the deficit by nearly $250 billion. Arkansans want a Senator who will stand up to that type of pressure. We want someone who will always represent our views and values. Sen. Lincoln has once again proved she can’t do that."
Republican United States Senate candidate Col. Conrad Reynolds (U.S. Army, Ret.) issued the following statement today after Sen. Blanche Lincoln’s vote with Senate liberals to add nearly $250 billion to the national debt:
“Today Sen. Lincoln made the first installment on the bill for her new committee chairmanship, choosing to side with Sen. Reid and the liberal leadership of the Senate to add $250 billion to the nation’s credit card.
While it is important that we ensure doctors are reimbursed for treating Medicare patients, we must do so in a conservative fashion which doesn’t add to the national debt. This is the conservative position that was embraced today by the likes of Sen. Lieberman and 12 other Democrats who joined in a bipartisan majority to reject the bill.
It is obvious now that Sen. Lincoln’s rhetoric does not match her record. Instead of choosing the conservative path, she opposed it. This is just the latest example of why Arkansans feel their voice is no longer heard in Washington. And that is why we must elect a senator who will restore our voice in the Senate and remember the conservative values we hold dear back in home in Arkansas.”

Hello OG,
I'll bet you folks cannot wait for 2010?
Why can't they just do what they say they are going to do?
Man do we need term limits!
-j-
Arkansas need a new Senator!
Bye Bye Blanche
Get a big broom and sweep the "blue dogs" out of the Congress.
We should mark this one down as Snowe actually voted with the Republicans for a change. Maine should be so proud.
