I recall watching "Gettysburg" some years back. And recall a conversation between several of the confederate general in that movie and one(can't remember which) made a statement about politicians that has stayed with me over these years and its very fitting "politicians will complicate the obvious and trivialize the momentous". This momentous spending means little to these leaders and quite frankly I think they see it as part of their job description. And the things that are obvious to most thinking American are complicated by double talk and half-truths by those in Washington.
