America Rising: An Open Letter to Democrat Politicians
Update 1/14/10: It's been only seven days since we joined others in posting the accompanying video in the original post. However, under pressure the original video was removed from YouTube. However, another user posted a "similar" video which is used below until they pull this video - view it while you can.

You were elected by people who believed your promise of hope and change. We the People regret it. In 2010, we are taking the country back. Blue collar democrats, independents, conservatives. We love our country. We are proud of our founders. And we will fight to protect our traditions.

There is little doubt that this video is powerful. The background music is over-whelming and awe inspiring. I reminded, of the Hungarian uprising many years ago when the revolution was failing and the Russian tanks were rolling into Budapest. At that time a small radio station controlled by the Hungarian freedom fighters was still on the aid and this message was heard by listeners in the west, I will have to paraphrase---"today the bell tolls for us tomorrow for you". A warning that did not come to past, but nevertheless a call to arms that was finally answered by Reagan some years later. This video is in many ways a call to arms and a warning of the dangers we face.
The video is an extremely slick production with a lot of music and absolutely NO specifics about anything. It might as well have said it was supporting Mom and Apple Pie and doing so with very portentious overwrought music for background. Not only that, but it assigns blame for TARP to the Dems, when we know darn well TARP was a Republican program passed in the twilight days of the Bush Administration AFTER eight years of this country's finances going down the tubes due to incredibly misguided REPUBLICAN policies. Want to talk about the Medicare crisis? Where did it come from? It came from the Republican sponsored and passed Medicare Part D program which pays FULL price to Big Pharma for drugs and specifically FORBIDS negotiation of drug prices. Moreover, the program directs only about 14% of its income to actual provision of benefits to the people under the program. The rest is just gravy for the industry and the insurance companies.
I have no doubt that if one traced the funding for this video to its origins we would find that it was funded by a lobbyist organization. This video is nothing more than Astroturf.
I dare you to post this comment. I'm not related to any campaign and have never been in the employ of any politician.
Catzmaw... portentous music? That's awesome. Totally not what you meant, I'm sure, but uh right on. I think you meant pretentious.
