Perhaps a written transcript would help. I clearly hears him say that the advisory panel may decide that a particular TREATMENT was not effective, and would not be covered, thereby saving money.
He did not say that the advisory panel would decide that a PERSON was not to be treated, thereby saving money.
You can tell the difference there, yes?
Busted! That's how they do it in the UK. I did a post a few weeks ago on how 20,000 people died last year because their rationing board decided that cancer drugs were too expensive.
Matt mentioned a quote from his article which is at Does Single Payer Kill? Why Yes, Yes it Does
The practice pf medicine is an art not a science. Decisions are to be between a doctor and their patient and not some arbitrary board who tried to base things solely on economic terms and the patient.
im watching my country slowly coming to a halt..I have had enough of this hit parade presidency. cant speak for any of you.. but if you had an employee that would not perform to your standards. they would be fired,
Bill has been one of the most enduring and articulate of Sarah's supporters. I hope she announces on 8/28 that she's in it to win it. She despises Obama, and he will learn to fear the "mama-bear."
Yeah, uh huh....like that's gonna happen.
Bill, you rock, darlin! Thanks for all you do.
WarChick,
I'm humbled. Thanks.
