Why does District 4 go for east to west and appears to cover as much space as 1,2 and 3 combined. Does no one live in south Arkansas??
They have very small populations compared to Central and NW Arkansas.
Yeah... hasn't district 4 seen a decline in population? Could be wrong.
Yeah. I kinda like having Russellville in the in the 2nd but hate losing Searcy to the 1st.
Yeah, Russellville is a plus. But with Searcy in the 1st, won't that help to keep it in conservative hands?
I'm not sure that it is enough. I think we should be on the defensive now.
On the federal level, not the state.
This is what happens when you have ten years of Mike Ross; lost jobs, lost prosperity, lost industry and lost population. So why did he win?
EXACTLY!! Wake-Up District 4
The 4th has lost population. There are few jobs. Now, the Delta Region is mostly in the 4th. I think this is set up to give us three R seats most of the time, but we will have to always cede the 4th to a D.
So is this the plan the O'beebe, O'McDaniel came up with??
I think that it is reasonable to think that 3 R congressmen could be leveraged into 2 R US Senators plus a R Guv. etc.
:) I think so.
I would love 3 sure R seats and 1 sure D.
Yesterday Rick Crawford asked for the tax cuts for the farmers to stay put. Before anyone gets mad at him about this, think about what we have! Yes! I'll allow pandering to the farmers for him to keep his seat.
As long as the pandering mean tax cuts I'm for it!

Actually, I think I misspoke. I think it was about farm subsidies for the farmers. I would normally be against it, but we have to keep the farmers happy with Crawford.
OOPS!
The map shows Lee in the 4th but the verbiage of the bill has Lee staying in the 1st.
Please take Lee and Phillips. AR-1 really does not want them.

I have to disagree with Barbara. I do not think that we have to cede the 4th District to a Democrat. But we do have to work much harder to win this district. In the latest election Beth Anne Rankin won in just about every county that has an active Tea Party. We are still working hard, but we need help.
John, Agree. We should hold all ground as long as we are doing right things and right actions.
Barabra, Correct. Though I'm against subsidies, Crawford has voted correctly so far at least 98% percent of the time. What a huge change from Marion Berry. Blech.
I lived in CA for 40 years and they reconfigure the districts as often as possible and it always ends up favoring the liberals. Now we know why O was so intent on getting the Census done...the progressives want to reconfigure so they will have the shift of votes in their favor.
Unless, for once, the Rs (I note Key is a R) are on top of things and this will be in our favor.
Believe me when I say, the local government is even worse here, Scott County in District 4. You wouldn't believe the stories I hear regarding dems vs. repubs and the fight the repubs have had here in just Scott Co. We've made some advancements. I moved to Scott Co. about 10 years ago and we finally have a TRUE republican party who managed to finally get a repub primary! The only repub primary ever in Scott Co. I consistently get business owners telling me IN PRIVATE keep up the good work, but they won't get involved with our party because of fear. Its horrible the hold the dems have here. At this point in time, we can't even find a place to allow us to meet. The VFW is fighting us eye and tooth to keep us out of their meeting room, even though the by-laws specifically allows political meetings. Last year we were meeting outside, in a pavilion downtown Waldron. It looks like that is where we'll be meeting again this year. Thank God for the break in weather.
Everyone, when we continually say we have to keep these folks happy and those folks happy we move close to what the Republicans did not very long ago that caused people to turn up their noses at the party. We need principle to be our guiding light. Rick you're my Congressman, farm subsidies have got to be reined in. Please move that ball forward.
Tim Griffin voted to extend the Patriot Act, and that upset me. These Congressman sometimes vote wrong, but we have to weigh out their whole performance at the end of two years.
Constitutionally limited Government, Less Taxes, Fiscal Responsibility, these are the principles we must hold our elected representatives too. Comparative relativism is what got us into the mess we are in. If we fail to live by principle, we will principally fail!
Compromise/moderation don't win ball games, or any other games people play. my kids' *admitted brag* played soccer without fear of getting hurt, whatever position. this is how every game should be played in life...full speed ahead & "never, never, never give in!" Churchill
Do y'all want to keep a Conservative in the First District Seat? Crawford was the first Republican elected since reconstruction. Yes, farm subsidies need to be done away with, as it's another form of welfare. However, it takes time to move mountains--one bucket of dirt at a time.
