Senate Leader Harry Reid Tables Vote On "Cut, Cap and Balance" Bill
“If they [Senate Republicans] want to debate it tomorrow for a period of time, they can do that, but I’m going to — I think this piece of legislation [Cut, Cap & Balance Bill] is about as weak and senseless as anything that has ever come on this Senate floor … The American people should understand that this is a bad piece of legislation. Perhaps some of the worst legislation in the history of this country.” - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV)
Bill Smith, Editor: A few minutes ago, Senate majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) led an effort to table and thereby preventing debate on the bill, considerations of amendment by democrats, or a vote on the "Cut, Cap and Balance" bill. The vote to table was down party lines (51-46) with Republicans voting to consider the bill and Democrats voting to not even consider the bill.
To repeat, Senate democrats, including Reid, could have opened debate and made amendments to the bill which if approved and the bill had passed would have sent it back to the House of Representatives for reconciliation. Obama had vowed to veto the bill if it reached his desk. Thus, Reid refused to allow the representative process to continue and instead chose to align with a dictatorial process.
What and where are Harry Reid's ideas? He has not proposed anything. He has not put forward what his position. He is not the Senator representing Nevada but the "chief lemming" who always waits to do the bidding of the President. The House offered a plan and passed a bill. However, neither Senate Democrats nor the President has put forth a plan. Today, President Obama continues his rhetoric. He has offered no written plan -- no action. He is today holding a "town-hall meeting" at the University of Maryland.
Also after tabling this bill, Sen. Harry Reid reversed himself and cancelled holding sessions in the Senate over the weekend.
Two thirds of the American people like the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" bill. It is not dead - but it is tabled in the Senate, ignored, and falsely maligned. It is now up to the American people to speak up and to force the Senate to take up this bill!
Our Federal Government has a spending problem and the United States is on the verge of becoming Greece. The Senate Democrats have no will to stop this from happening. They appear to have joined Reid as Obama lemmings.

The Repubs have proposed and passed several bills while the Dems have only proposed "raise the debt ceiling and raise taxes".
This is basically the same group of Dems that have not passed a budget in over 800 days, ignoring the law which requires them to pass a budget every yr. What is the penalty for violating that law and why are they not being held responsible for violating it. (I know the answer, because they are Dems and in the liberal fantasy land only Repubs and conservatives are to be held accountable).
