Clips The White House Didn’t Circulate
On The President’s ‘Campaign’ Stop At The Ohio River
‘The President’s Staff Acknowledged The Political Nature Of His Own Trip’
“Highway officials say their bridge replacement plans not ready to hire workers till 2013 or later - so Obama jobs bill doesn't apply.”(CBS’ Mark Knoller Twitter, 9/22/11)
“…that's what the spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation told me. That this really isn't the best example of a shovel ready bridge or a shovel ready project.”(Brianna Keilar, CNN, 9/22/11)
I heard they had found a section of the Bill that required "Union Workers" on all jobs. I knew they require union scale be paid all workers but this is new. Did anyone else see or hear this. I don't want to pass on without verification.
Good Question: The following is from the Liberal Huff Post http://tinyurl.com/3pgq5kc -Teachers Union Leaders Pleased With $60 Billion For Education In Obama's Jobs Plan
"House officials as saying it would cost $450 billion. The plan would set aside $60 billion for the repair of 35,000 schools and teachers' jobs."
"The NEA, the nation's largest teachers union, endorsed Obama this summer for a second term."
Now from the other sited: The National Right To Work Committee http://tinyurl.com/3p53ffp - Obama Demands Union Only Jobs
"Kyle Olsen breaks down the provisions in the teacher union bailout. He calculates that about three quarters of unionized teachers are represented by the National Education Association. Every member pays dues, including $166 per year that goes to the national union, according to a secret union document posted on PublicSchoolSpending.com. The White House says up to 285,000 teaching jobs – that is, dues payers – could be saved. Given these facts, the NEA would be looking at about $35.4 million in “saved” dues. Similarly, the American Federation of Teachers, which has annual dues of $184.20, according to financial statements found at AFTexposed.com, would have about 71,250 jobs saved. The dues ramifications? A little over $13 million.
"President Obama’s newest stimulus package is another giveaway to big labor and should be stopped in its tracks."
