Mitt Romney Wins CPAC / Washington Times Poll - Rick Santorum Close Second
Washington, D.C - Today, Tony Fabrizio, Republican Pollster and Strategist at McLaughlin and Associates, announced the results of the CPAC 2012 straw poll and / Washington Times National poll. The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll had 3,408 conservative voters. The CPAC poll ran from Thursday through Saturday at their event in Washington. Romney won 38% with Rick Santorum receiving 31%. Together they had 69% of the votes. Newt Gingrich received 15% and Ron Paul 12%.
In the Washington Times National survey, Mitt Romney barely topped Rick Santorum, 27% to 25%. Gingrich in third place at 20% and Paul had 8%.

He didn't go this year.
