42 House Republicans oppose controversial Labor Nominee
Thomas Perez |
“Thomas Perez has a long and alarming track record of ignoring the law when it suits his radical agenda, and he is entirely unfit to assume the power and responsibility that comes with a cabinet level post as the Secretary of the Department of Labor,” Scalise said. “In addition to wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on frivolous lawsuits, Perez has abused his authority by trying to inflate voter rolls, and, according to the Department of Justice Inspector General, has completely mismanaged the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division. The nomination of Thomas Perez for Secretary of Labor is just another example of President Obama’s willingness to put politics ahead of good public policy. America simply cannot afford to have Thomas Perez in charge of the Department of Labor.”
