Acting IRS Director Resigns
The Washington Posts reports: "President Obama on Wednesday demanded and accepted the resignation of the acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, Steven T. Miller, as part of a multi-pronged effort to quell controversies that threaten to dominate his second term.
"The action was Obama’s first substantive step to address a political uproar stemming from the IRS’s disclosure that it had targeted conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. It capped a day when the White House tried to dampen two other furors that had put Obama on the defensive — the Justice Department’s seizure of Associated Press phone records and the administration’s editing of talking points about the deadly attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year. . . ." With full pension and benefits and the blessing and thanks of the higher-ups. This will probably be the end of it, as they now have essentially found someone willing to be the scapegoat. The spineless republicans better not let this be the end of it! Show some courage and strength!!

If they took his retirement away for his crimes, he would squeal like a pig. But no they will take care of him so he stays quiet.
Except it's not a resignation. It's leaving at the end of their current contract rather than asking for a renewal.

Agree with everyone's great comments. Obama was angered not by the acts of the IRS but by this situation becoming known. Miller was not the problem. Although one wonders how anyone can be an "acting" director. In the military, at least in the past, we stopped using this term for commanders as you either are in command or you are not in command. The issue is the "culture of corruption" becoming evident within the Obama administration. Once again, we have a "cancer on a presidency" and the discovered eruptions of abuse and failures in this administration are signs of that growing cancer.
Power corrupts. IRS has near absolute power.
