Stand Firm in Liberty -- Never Despair!
by Mark Alexander, Publisher, The Patriot Post: Do not despair!
These have been difficult years for you and tens of millions of Patriot sons and daughters of Liberty. We have persevered through relentless assaults on our national heritage and legacy of Liberty by legions of leftists.
Do not be disheartened by battles lost. As a student of history, let me assure you that the Light of Liberty is eternal, and will survive the current effort to extinguish it.
Amid all the competing voices proclaiming one worldview or another, there are a few beacons of Liberty that have steadfastly held to the enduring principles established by our Founders. . . .
I offer you these words of encouragement from George Washington just before the brutal winter at Valley Forge: "We should never despair, our situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times."
I am also reminded of these words from Winston Churchill in 1941, when tyranny was at his doorstep: "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never -- in nothing, great or small, large or petty -- never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy."
In those eras when Americans have been blessed with great leadership like that of Ronald Reagan, our economy, our culture and our country have thrived.
Our nation will thrive again.
