Your First Amendment rights are UNDER ATTACK!
Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee led by Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham have attached an amendment to Senate Bill 987, which would give the Department of Justice power to determine who qualifies for protection as a journalist under the First Amendment.
Here at the Franklin Center, we believe in the power of a free press. We already have a law to protect the press from government meddling in our newsgathering efforts and excluding Americans from the reporting process. It’s called the First Amendment.

Journalist shield laws stem from the days of newprint-by-the-ton, ink-by-the-barrel, TV-and-radio-towers-to-the-sky reporting. Those days have gone the way of the Underwood typewriters and vacuum tubes journalists also used. Like so many things, the internet has changed the landscape. Now what? We either have a First Amendment or we don't.
Mike, Right on! The point is that some politicians wish to take away our 1st Amendment Rights. Hope you viewed the video and expressed your self on the page that the Franklin Center setup. No emails are being collected.
One more etchmark on the Stock of Liberty and freedom.
They are freaked out because they can't buy the company you work for and have you silenced like in the old days. You can use the same tools a big news service journalist uses to research, and shoot it out all over the WORLD with the internet and there is no way to use money to shut you up! You know, like our founding fathers INTENDED!!! FREE SPEECH! Who CARES what some Washington control freaks want? We the people want FREE SPEECH by ALL!!!
Chuck Schumer is one who should have his speech controled. Whenever he opens his mouth it is to do harm to America in one way or another. He sends shivers down your spine just seeing his face.
