STOP Federal Takeover of The Internet Via FCC Regulation
Alert: Time sensitive. FCC Comment Period ends July 15, 2014!
Phil Kerpen, President, American Commitment: You'll be shocked at what Obama's planning for his next federal takeover.
A few weeks ago, bureaucrats in the FCC drafted crushing new regulations that are the first steps in a full federal takeover of the greatest bastion of American free enterprise: the Internet.
A government takeover of the Internet sounds more like a story coming out of China or Russia - but, believe me, it's about to happen right here in America if the FCC and Obama get their way with these unprecedented regulations.
But here's the good news: these regulations aren't final yet - so there's still time a little bit of time to stop them before the current comment period closes on July 15.
But we can only do that if I can count on you to make your voice heard right now, and help us show the FCC and liberals in Washington that the American people want to keep the Internet free.
Believe me: this FCC assault on Internet freedom is one of the biggest attacks on our free market economy, and our freedom, today.
Here's what happens just in the short-term, if the FCC gets their way on the plans for a federal Internet takeover:
If you think the short-term plans are bad, believe me: the FCC's long-term plans are even more sinister.
Take Nancy Pelosi, who has "serious concerns" that even these draconian measures from the FCC don't go far enough.
And Harry Reid, who wants to go "strong" on the government takeover of the Internet - by turning the Internet directly into a slow-moving, badly-managed public utility.
Or take Robert McChesney, a self-avowed Marxist and the founder of "Free Press," the far-Left group leading the war on Internet freedom, who is actively bragging that these crippling new regulations will start a "revolution" that will "take apart capitalism brick-by-brick."
If that doesn't scare you, I don't know what will.
That the biggest supporter Obama and the FCC can count on in their war on Internet freedom is actively using this as a first step in the fight to destroy American capitalism altogether - and that liberal leaders in Congress think the new unprecedented regulations don't even go far enough.
Simply put, if the federal government takes over the Internet today - the best example we've ever had of American free enterprise and capitalism - anything and everything else will be fair game.
Even, as Robert McChesney hopes, the very heart of American capitalism itself.
We simply can't let that happen. That's why I'm counting on your help today.
I'm Phil Kerpen, and I founded American Commitment specifically to restore and protect our nation's commitment to free markets, economic growth, and individual freedom.
And, by bridging the gap between think tanks and grassroots organizations, we're one of the most effective research centers fighting for economic freedom and limited government in America today.
Right now, there's no bigger fight than the fight to keep the Internet free. America isn't China or Russia - we shouldn't have to worry about a government takeover that cripples our free speech and free enterprise online.
Liberal groups are pouring comments into the FCC urging them to move even faster to turn the Internet into a federally controlled public utility. We cannot let them pretend to speak for the American people.
As I said, there's still time to stop the FCC and Obama from killing Internet freedom - but only if I can count on you today.
This comment period closes July 15.
Thank you so much for your help!

Believe me: this FCC assault on Internet freedom is one of the biggest attacks on our free market economy, and our freedom, today.
Here's what happens just in the short-term, if the FCC gets their way on the plans for a federal Internet takeover:
- The government will make it nearly impossible for Internet providers to upgrade infrastructure - meaning that bringing down cost and speeding up service simply won't happen.
- Due to the massive new regulation and government orders, new competition will be virtually eliminated - just like the bad old days of the heavily-regulated "Ma Bell" telephone system.
- The Internet's incredible capacity for innovation will disappear - because all decisions, big and small, will have to be approved by federal bureaucrats.
- Broadband Internet, the best infrastructure system in America today, will be "reclassified" as a "public utility," like poorly-managed, government-controlled water, sewer, and electricity systems.
- Internet free speech and free enterprise will be placed directly in the hands of Washington bureaucrats, instead of in the free market.
If you think the short-term plans are bad, believe me: the FCC's long-term plans are even more sinister.

I can only find references to the govt takeover of the WWW with articles linked to "American Commitment", and yet in none of those articles can I find any links discussion on the issue, to to the source of the quotes from the Godless, marxist scum who I share your contempt for.
Is this the "Net Neutrality" issue? You could help your cause on this if you provided some links to more details, including the context of the comments by our enemies.
(I'll check back...)
Thanks for your comment. The referenced article was an action article by the author.
The issue is not about "Net Neutrality" - another important topic. This is about the FCC taking over regulating the Internet in the U.S.
There are numerous other related articles. People may search for prior related articles with more content and links by entering the words " FCC + Internet " in the search option at the top left of the site.
But for now: Just enter the following URL in your browser http://arkansasgopwing.blogspot.com/search?q=FCC+Internet to get a list of several related articles.
